An assistant manager at a Northern California Burger King found a backpack loaded with about $100,000 in a booth, but so far no one has come forward to claim it.

I would have held on to it until the owner came back. I wouldn't have made public announcement because now lots of people might pretend it was theirs.

Esp with drugs in it. This isnt some old ladies life savings. Money would be washed and dried and put away.

It should be easy to get a general idea who it was but most cameras are around 100 pixels and almost worthless.

I would be tempted to keep it but probably would not because it's not worth 100k to worry about being targeted by a drug dealer.

Assistant manager Sahista Bakawla told KGO ( http://abc7ne.ws/1ClMpbO ) he spotted the blue backpack left in his San Jose eatery early Wednesday.

He said when it was still there by that afternoon he called the owner
who opened it, hoping to find identification or a phone number.

Instead, he found a whopping amount of $100 bills.

Officers came to the restaurant and opened the bag, which also contained
some candy, a small amount of marijuana and a bank deposit slip.

Police are now working with the bank to find the bag's owner.

Found almost $4,000 in a wallet stuffed behind a payphone.

Was in the heart of a craphole neighborhood, no id, credit cards, nothing else in there except the cash.

Yup, I kept it. Probably the only circumstances that I would do something like that. An ID, business card, something, and I would have tried to find the owner. 99.9% sure it was a drug drop.

Bought my first car with that money (I was 16 at the time). I also didn't tell anyone I found it and pretty much stayed out of that neighborhood from that point on.

I am guessing the person that lost $100k under those circumstances has had their face sewn into a soccer ball by now.

ETA: Thanks for the truck Mr Random Drug Dealer.

This.

Under some twisted drug dealer logic, the finder probably "owes" them $100,000 in their minds.

I'm thinking the dude that was supposed to receive that dead drop got dead himself. If not, than I agree, he's gonna be.

Yeah, it's a lot of money but not 'change your life' amount of money.
