I went to Walmart this morning and found some prepackaged Butterball turkey. The packaging makes it look like carved turkey and not that pressed deli meat. We shall see.

I got some russet potatoes and will try to make mashed potatoes.

Brown gravy mix (add water) for the mashed potatoes

Green beans

No brown n serve rolls so perhaps garlic Texas toast.

Add in tears for not being to buy cheap PMags and D&H 30 round magazines and I should be ready for the Cowboys game.

8lb chicken in the crock pot

rinsed, salted, stuffed with garlic and onions

over some taters, carrots and onions

after a few hours on high

remove chicken

strain veggies

make gravy from juice

ETA - The desserts!

6 pounds of prime rib, currently roasting and some home brewed porter... that's it for me

The Lady has insisted on having a baked potato with the sliver of prime rib she'll actually eat and of course she must have ice cream, the cats are dancing around in the kitchen, they smell the prime rib and are waiting for their share of the meat goodness...

Did the turkey last night.
Stuffing in the oven now.
Will make a gravy and stock form the pan drippings later for said stuffing.

Later roast taters and onions with fresh rosemary.
Roasted carrots and Kale, roasted brussles sprouts.

It is eat at will pick and choose, no stress.

Desert is something off the wall that turned out better than I would have thought.

Plain green beans.

Acorn squash with no seasoning but maybe a little ginger on top.

Couple bits of roast turkey breast with very little seasoning and no skin.

A carrot.

99% fat free chicken broth.

Squash with a little honey and cinnamon for the grand dessert.

Half for lunch, half for dinner.

Worked too hard over the past eight months to get the weight off.

Went to Golden Corral with family of "roommate". Ate lots of food. It was delicious. Desserts were nom nom. Even put chocklate fountain on my pie. Found no bandaids.

My husband and I went to our favorite restaurant with two other couples again this year.

I had tiny portions of turkey breast with dressing, roast pork, rare roast beef, and mashed potatoes. Then I ODed on blackened redfish, fried shrimp, broiled scallops, and - my favorite - fried oysters. Seriously authentic - none of that green stuff, thank you - key lime pie for dessert.

Half rations for the next couple of days.

Colorado organic beef double cheeseburger with applewood smoked ham (oven baked), heirloom tomatoes, home-baked sourdough roll, swiss, home-made kosher dills with a side of baked beans (home made) and coleslaw (you guessed it).

Ya know honestly this has been one of the better just fuck it days.
No stress and hunger from not having turkey it was done last night, open faced turkey sammiches with apple juice and coffee and roasted garlic gravy.

Stuffing this afternoon with turkey.

Gravy and roasted taters and veg tonight or tomorrow.

will worry about the stock this weekend.

All in all chill and relaxing going at my own pace eating when the mood strikes, drinking coffee or cider surfing the web.

Just getting ready to put my bird in the oven.

Yesterday, I went to the butcher shop and got a fresh (1 day old) 8 pound turkey as all my girls won't be here this year and it's just the two of us.

I rub Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper on the skin after rinsing and patting dry.

Stuff the cavities full of red onion quarters and quartered small sweet oranges.
