Unpleasant things happen when you choose to stand in the road and block traffic. I respect your right to peacefully protest, but keep it on the sidewalk and let other people do their thing while you do yours. |

Definitely NOT guilty!
My missus and I discussed this last night. I reminded her that while it certainly would not be the Christian thing to do, if she is ever confronted by an angry mob, she should hit the gas. She might get 2-4 of the crazies but the rest would move aside in fear, allowing her to escape. Better to be tried by 12 than lynched by a mob. And I also reminded her that if the mob does stop her and attempts to pull her out of her car, to come out shooting! |

................ Hit and run is the charge View Quote Makes sense but when using deadly force even to defend yourself you are charged with that type of act or a homicide depending on what the final result was. So, that charge just means that is what initially occurred, then the prosecutor ultimately decides if it was self defense (or the Grand Jury). I assume it is standard procedure............maybe the LEO's can chime in. |

Dramatic video shows a vehicle hitting several protesters Tuesday afternoon in Minneapolis. The incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue.
Video from KSTP's CHOPPER 5 showed the vehicle stopping in a crowd of protesters rallying in wake of a grand jury's decision not to charge Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown. The vehicle can then be seen driving through the protesters, traveling at a low speed. At least one protester is seen being dragged with the vehicle. It then comes to a stop and several protesters surround the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle then takes off, hitting several protesters as it drives away. A woman suffered minor injuries and spared from serious harm because others puller her away from the path of the vehicle. The woman was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. As of 5:30 p.m., Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder said the driver was not in custody and has not been ticketed. The incident is under investigation. http://kstp.com/news/stories/S3631519.shtml?cat=1 |

The video starts with people already on his hood. It's easy to happen upon a mob unexpectedly. I was driving downtown last night and caught sight of a Ferguson protest mob on the street literally 20 feet before my last chance to turn right on to a side street. I was quick to say "fuck this" and change direction but I'd imagine most people would (and did, I saw it) keep going past the point of no return without it registering exactly what they are looking it. You'd have to be born yesterday or never left your village to think that a mob won't single you out for no reason other than proximity and convenience. This mob had every opportunity to let this guy pass peacefully but they deliberately got in front of him and on top of him. They knew exactly what they were doing. You don't corner people like that, period. |

Is it legal or should you show your firearm and tell people to get out of the way in this situation? View Quote Do you have a Texas CHL--that class should have covered this for you. In Texas, display of a firearm is legally considered the same as using the firearm. In practice, this may not be true, but the way the law is written, you are justified in displaying a firearm in the same circumstances you are justified in using the firearm. |
