Any idea from anyone what the rifle is worth?

My co-worker has a Winchester Model 52B 22 bolt rifle and he has been offered a trade for the rifle.  The trade would be a Glock 22, 10 mags, and ammo (unknown amount).  Just doing a gunbroker search of the Winchester I told my co-worker the trade seems awfully slanted in favor of the Glock owner and that he should sweeten the pot.

I estimated the Glock value since used about 399-450 and the mags and ammo +$50 not knowing condition of everything.  The Winchester I am unsure of the value but it is a nice rifle he showed me once and with it having possible collector value I think the scales of the trade are not balanced.  My co-worker really knows nothing about guns it is his fathers guns that were left to him.

Any advice on the Winchester 52B please post let me know your .02 thanks guys!

You value Glock mags at $5 each?

More Google searches show the 52B valued between $1100-1500.

This ^^^

Winchester 52 , depending on options like sights , could be worth in the $1,000 range.  Maybe more.

Used unknown condition honestly a trivial item when trading and honestly my co-worker could get by with 2 as much as he even shoots.

No shit!  You would have to pay ME to even touch a Glock mag and it would take way more then 5 dollars.

He is a PC gamer he tried to sell it to me for $700 and I told him I could not honestly do that deal and not feel as though I am ripping you off.

The 52B is no longer made, a fine rifle and worth more than the Glock.

That being said, his rifle, his trade. If he doesn't like it, doesn't shoot it and needs the pistol, that's his business.

As long as you are honest with him, one up the trade he has been offered and profit.

Money is not an issue for me if I wanted to rifle I would pay him a fair price but I have no desire for the rifle. ..... being honest and truthful is more me and to do that deal I think he would eventually get sellers remorse then have issue later.

Well, I guess I would have a harder time letting a stranger screw over a friend of mine, you could always one up the trade and hold on to it for awhile so that when remorse kicks in you can let him go back on it...

I am helping him deal with the guy.... He is countering and telling him he needs to sweeten the pot by at least 600 I told him to ask for an basic ARish rifle and the G22.

The configuration of the 52B will determine if he's just trying to screw your friend or give him a right proper fucking.

He did not do the trade.... he asked my advice and my opinion was lopsided deal in favor of the other guy but he has no honest clue what he has.

Now the guy offered him a G22 and a Sig Mauser M2 pistols ...... I laughed and said do not waste your time on the Sig Mauser tell him to put up something as fair trade.

The Glock trader is going to pony up cash or really sweeten the pot.  I am trying to get value on the rifle to help guide my friend to the better deal.

I am of the crowd the deal was bad from the beginning.

I have a 52C that I bought in 1968 or thereabouts. I would never sell it, let alone trade it for a Glock. I wouldn't trade it for half a dozen Glocks.

I don't know anyting about the value of the winchester.  I would not trade it for a handgun that is so commonplace

52B

I wouldn't take less than $2K for the rifle/scope combo if it's rust free and in the condition it seems to be from the pics (looks like a pre-war flat top receiver?).

Obviously price is dependent on the buyer seeing the same value, but I bet it could go higher than $2K for the right buyer.

Is that a 8X 1 1/4" Unertl?

That optic if a 8X is worth easily $1500 as it is legal for CMP Vintage Sniper competition on the 1941 USMC Sniper (model 1903 Springfield).  Originals are very hard to come by and most are resorting to the Chinese Hi-lux knock-off.

I recently sold a 12X 1 1/2" Unertl for $650.  I obviously didn't ask enough because the listing lasted about a hour and the buyer didn't even quibble.

It's a Lyman Junior TargetSpot. It was the low cost alternative to the Unertl. $350-500 depending on condition and power.
