DIY garage shelving (assuming you have a garage)
Replace all the contractor-grade wire shelving that is inevitably installed everywhere (pantry, closets, garage). If you don't, you might overload it like I did once and have a collapse in your garage.  Found out the hard way it wasn't attached to the studs, and I was putting a tiny drill-bit (yes, a single drill-bit) on the shelf and the whole thing collapsed on me.

Black out window blinds, makes it easier to sleep during the summer plus keeps those rooms much cooler.
Make sure you have enough light and power outlets in the garage before moving in. |
