hey guys I'm looking for an iPhone app to hide text messages so that they go into a hidden folder that I can check when I want to check instead of having interrupt my day.
any suggestions? |

pics of wife? pics of gf?
don't need pics of boyfriend if this is a coming out thread. |

If these texts were really "interrupting your day" you'd leave your phone in your car. There's something you're not telling, OP. |

What are you going to do when she finds the hidden texts? That hole just keeps getting deeper

ETA: Maybe the op is up to something completely different. Maybe he is hiding his girlfriends texts from his husband. |

Save the contact under a guy friend's name she recognizes and won't question. When she looks, she will just see his name and pass right over.

You'll have to jailbreak your phone but it can be done w certain apps. Don't know names of any app in particular.
And yeah, you're hiding something from your S/O so why not just cut the bs and come out w it.

Basically I think OP doesn't want to have the "ding ding" going off all fucking day while he's doing whatever.
Sorry, don't know any app that does that, but you might be able to set the notification tone to "none"... however on an iPhone, that's a manual thing. With Android, I'd recommend Tasker to set up a profile based on location or timeframe to mute SMS messages. |
|
|
If the OP was seriously being bothered by his phone sending text message sounds, he could put the phone on vibrate or simply make the text notification in Alert Tones to "None". But since he wants a hidden folder its obviously hes full of shit or all of GD is stupid, one or the other.
2nd reply said it best. Burner phone if you don't have the sack to be a player, playa. |
|
Setup a throwaway gmail account and attach a google voice number.
Preferably attached to a burner number. If they already have your real number, it's too late |
|
An app called text free will set up a separate phn num to text from. And it only updates when it's open.
|
|
Because turning off the alert function of texts is so tough?
What's the real reason? |

Also does anyone know of a way I can make a call and not have it show up in my phone records? Really annoying going through my bill and seeing all those pesky numbers
|

You have a few options, op;
1. If you are hiding one person from being a notification, set their alert noise to nothing. No vibration, no audio. 2. If you are really being distracted from work, set your phone on do not disturb. If that fails, turn it on silent and set your texts to not not vibrate. When you turn it back to regular mode, your texts will make an audio noise. If you are hiding something, I'd suggest google voice, hide the app a few pages deep and call it good. If the wife is nosy and you've got a jailbreak and a touch ID scanner on your phone, they have a jailbreak app that prevents her from opening it. You could also tell your wife that you are leaving her for the sexy dude from marketing and be up front about this shit. |

View Quote If you're that addicted to checking texts then turn off messaging alerts and leave the phone in your jacket/bag/whatever. Or are you looking for a way to leave text notifications active but disable text notifications and hide texts from specific numbers? |

If you're just not wanting your phone to vibrate or sound off when you get a text then just use the Do Not Disturb mode on your iPhone. It's the little half moon logo. Problem with that is you won't get any phone calls either. Unless of course that person calls you back within 2 minutes of originally calling you then the call will go through. Or, you can set up a VIP list. A list of people whom can all you anytime even when Do Not Disturb is turned on.

If my wife found out I was hiding text messages, the would another Arfcom curse thread. Same as if I caught her.
It sure sounds like OP is up to something. And seriously, you came to GD for a serious answer? |
