Could be, but this one isint.

A guy I knew from a forestry forum saw this 1st hand as they were clearing the land where this happened.

He supposedly saw the guy at the town watering hole and says he was extremely drunk and said he was off to wreck some stuff right before leaving. He told his buddies he was mad that he got the excavator hung up on the d6 dozer. Claimed he was going to totally bury it as he could not damage it enough.

He got 5yrs in da pokey.

We had a guy repeatedly told not to park his car in a certain place because one day it was gonna get run over....... It did. I laughed so hard I had to whip it out and piss right in the middle of the yard

Wow, that was expensive.
In the video it says take the keys. Good luck, every operator worth his salt has his own set. The pad locked covers over the panels on the older equipment couldn't keep out my 10 year old.

Would insurance cover something like that? Intentional destruction by an employee that lost his mind?

IIRC his business insurance covered him and sued the employee to cover their loss.

My little brother used to drive haul trucks at a copper mine in eastern AZ. He saw some idiot park his POV on the haul road and go wandering off. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later, it got flattened. Reprimand went to the idiot who parked his car on the haul road. He could have damaged a haul truck, and just the tire of one of those is 10 grand. Never mind the cost in lost production.
