6 ' 170lbs here. Think a Large will fit me? I dont have really broad shoulders, 39 chest, usually shirt size is16 neck/34arms. i'm more of a slim body type, i have long arms, and long torso.

I just ordered a large green so next week some 12 year Chinese kid should be running my knockoff hoodie through his knockoff sewing machine.

I'm anxiously awaiting some sizing comparisons for L/XL. I'm 6ft and no fattie, but I've got orangutan arms. Sometimes XL fits the bill, othertimes L suffices.

There's a LOT of sellers on ebay selling these jackets. Prices range from low, like the OP posted, up to $60. There's also a copy of the TAD shagmaster out there. The original thread has pictures and more links for those interested, I'm on my lunch break so can't get to most websites to get links. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1670768_Need_New_Soft_Shell_Jacket__What_Brand_.html&page=1 |

View Quote I'm 5'10 and 170lbs, and the medium fits me perfectly. The jacket I just got in fits just like the one I've had for a year or two. The stitching is well done, material is comfortable and free of any blemishes, and the water/wind resistance works as advertised. My older one is green, and the new one gray, and the colors look just like they're advertised. I don't have a real TAD or Arc to compare it with unfortunately. Still, it feels and fits like a quality jacket. Definitely worth the money, and more, in my opinion. View Quote That's kind of how I'm built and I got the XL. I've got long arms and it fit me good. I'm not skinny but not fat just kinda medium and talk all the way through. I wear a 34 in jeans fwiw. |

Not if it was free. The sadness I would feel when I put it on wouldn't be worth it.

I did....I wound up with a pair of Five Fingers that were 'pirate' stuff...paid a small discount and didn't realize until I got them (from Ebay) that they were....the only difference was in the strap material (too shiny for the real things)...apparently some factory managers in China make the run of 10k 'real' Under Armour (or Vibram, etc..) stuff...then after hours, have the workers churning out clones with leftover materials (and whatever other stuff they are missing, they'll buy cheaper material) in the same boxes, etc.... (The Fake Five Fingers make excellent beach fishing shoes....). AFARR |

OP can you post a full body pic with you wearing the jacket, so i can judge if i should get a L or XL based on how it fits you
you have 20lbs and an inch on me, but im worried if i get a L it might be too tight, but if i get a XL it might be too large. |

My wife bought one of the Chinese Northface ripoffs a couple years back. It barely lasted a winter before zippers and seams started falling apart. View Quote This. These jackets are pieces of shit. I would gladly spend $100 for something with a known brand and some semblance of QC. |

Looks exactly like the condor softshells that are made in china.

The other thread complains of poor quality zippers. How does yours look?

I finally got mine. I really like it and it fits well except the sleeves are about two inches too short. 6" ordered XL

Just personal preference of course, I don't know if one is necessarily superior to the other. |

Aren't some of their products now made in China? From 2007 so I'm not sure if more or less are made there: http://www.sustainableisgood.com/blog/2007/06/arcteryx_shifti.html |

Looks like a good buy, but you can get a real Condor for another $25.00 here.

I have the Costco $20 softshell and bought the softshell with hood a couple of days ago.both made in Vietnam. The hooded one is on sale for $29.99 now. Am still waiting for my Sand colored one from China. i am 5-9 165# and a Med barely fits on me. When buying Chinese clothing, unless it bought a store in the US, buy 1 size larger than you do. Been to China and HK. Chinese medium and US medium are not the same.

My wallet is laughing at you. I'm not an arctic explorer, I don't need a $500 jacket. For when I would wear this here in Ohio, I have no doubt I can stay warm layering this over a thermal shirt. 90% of the time I am outside in the winter I am working here on the farm and wearing bibs and a Carhartt. The other times I am snowboarding and have a Spyder jacket for that that works fine. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
