why you no buy guns?

October 31, 2014: 9:57 AM ET

http://money.cnn.com/2014/10/31/news/companies/sturm-ruger-guns/index.html?iid=Lead

There's a glut of guns for sale in America.

Gun dealers
have overstocked, and now they're just selling off the inventory that
they have, without ordering much from manufacturers.

Gun sales surged to unprecedented levels following the Newtown massacre of December 2012, driven by concerns about increased federal regulations, particularly against assault rifles.

Back then, Americans were buying AR-15s and AK-47s as fast as retailers could get them, pushing up prices and creating shortages of guns and ammo.

The stores couldn't order them fast enough. But they over ordered and now there are too many guns sitting on their shelves.

Pretty sure somebody called this exact scenario back right after sandy hook. And the next step is that all those little  manufacturers are going to go tits up because product isn't moving and the big boys are dropping their prices just to move their product out. Sub 1k Colts are not good news for the little guys.

Stop charging $2500 for some shot out piece of shit and you might move some product.  BTW: no shits given that you paid $XXX.XX for it, if its a $500 AR, I'll give you $450 for it out the door.

There was a letter from someone in the industry. Rainier?

I remember having the conversation.

We were simply in the middle of a giant speculative bubble. For most of the country there were no new bans so the result was a huge market correction (where we are now). It was one of only two possible outcomes, with the other being a new AWB and prices of pre-ban items continuing to rise indefinitely.

Good, with a little luck I'll be picking up 5 ARs and related accessories in the coming months.  I then need more handguns, night vision and ammunition.

My personal firearms acquisitions are inversely proportional to the market.

Ive noticed the price come down and have bought 4 new guns in the last month after taking a 2 year break from buying any new ones.

i dont plan to stop as long as the prices stay sane.

Yep, wake me up when the ammo, and reloading supply shelves start to get a little more than a coating of dust on them. What the fuck are people supposed to with a gun that they can't get ammo for when they don't have time nor money to go chasing the shit around the internet to pay three times what a reasonable price for it is?

It will be nice when ammo prices get back to normal. I have plenty of AR's and ammo.  What I need is a lot more 308 ammo and a few more bolt guns.
