Worst theme music of all time?
I'm just starting Season 2, and it's 87 times worse than the S1 opening theme. My only gripe so far, and it's a big one. Seriously I can't fast forward quickly enough. Great show though and seserving of the hype. Please no spoilers, yo.

I liked the theme as it changed over the seasons, it kind of set the tone for the season. If you don't like it, then fast forward 1 minute and 40 seconds...that will get you through the intro for pretty much any HBO series.
The wire is in my top 3 series of all time (Breaking Bad, and Deadwood are the others...GoT hasn't finished yet so I'm not counting that yet). Most folks think season 2 was the weakest season. The others are stellar. |

My buddies and I all call the 200ml Jameson flasks "McNulty's." At a wedding and the bar isn't open yet? "Who's got the McNulty?" Concert? You bet you'll find a McNulty. Funeral? LOTS of McNulty's to be found. http://i.imgur.com/vfftt6d.jpg View Quote I don't drink bushmills. That's Protestant whiskey. |

I always thought that Alice in Chains Down in a hole would have been a good choice.

The Bunk is strictly a suit-and-tie motherfucker. Why'd you burn your clothes?! Kharn "My wife will smell the cheatin'!" I always got a kick out of one of Prop Joe's guys talking about Omar: "I hate that motherfucker so much, I'mma kill him twice!" Season 2 was good, because it showed how Baltimore was dying and losing its working class. |

I don't know how anyone can not love this show...
Omar is the shit... If you don't laugh at least 5 times through each episode, you have no soul.... |

I liked the changing theme songs, but frankly I just fast forward through it. If I'm going to watch six episodes in one night I gotta save time where I can.

Season 2 was probably my favorite *shrug*.
Steve Earls version of the opening song is the best (season 5?) |

A lot of it is lifted from real life, down to the low tech encryption method the gangsters used. I thought the same thing about the second season music, it gets better, the show gets better after the second season too, imo. |

First time I watched the series, I didn't like season 2. I liked it much better the second time around.

Season 2 isn't bad in hindsight, but it throws everyone off on the first viewing.
Ultimately, the show is a portrait of Baltimore (and the docks and paper are necessary). |

McNulty's profile scene was my favorite in the entire series.
