On the cusp of obesity. Thank you Government!
I had better eat my 11 serving of grains a day to get healthy again. |

5-7 187 lbs. So I am obese according to BMI
But, I my waist is 32 inch. I have six pack (not the beer kind) My quads/calfs are like muscular. Working on my upper body strength. My arms are little bit fat |
|
I am borderline overweight according to the so-called "official" BMI calculator. At 5'10" and 170, I don't feel fat, stay very active. Recently had a physical and the doctor's notes on the exam stated that I was thin and physically in very good condition, so taking the "overweight" categorization with a side of bacon grease.
But these tools are used to prove someone's point about rampant obesity in the US. |

Wasn't till I hit 50 and started to fall apart.
I now refrain from judging others about things that don't concern me. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Overweight. Was obese at the start of the year but dropped 20lbs. Still chipping away at it.

BMI says I am overweight but I work out 5 days a week. I do want to drop a few pounds.

5' 10", 163lbs, so no. BMI is 99% bullshit any way. 4'11" and 96 lbs here, and I agree that BMI is an absolutely tarded measurement of "obesity". My wife would look like a giant in height next to you. She's 5'1" and 104 lbs. Fun size is best size! She's already sharing clothes with our eight year old daughter. I have accidentally mixed in my t-shirts with my 4 year old son's laundry, and vice versa. |

5'8"
165lbs 15% body fat 21 pull ups, rest a minute, 15 pull ups, rest a minute, 10 pull ups. - before each 60 minute workout. 50 years old BMI calculator says over weight with a BMI score of 25.1. |

Morbidly Obese. But I have lost about 35-40 in the last year. Still working on it, but not as good as I should be. Haven't eaten any candy in almost a year, and I don't miss it. Won't be having DT's tonight with all the Halloween shit going on. Carbs are my downfall. Pizza and beer....

5'10" 220. I've always carried a bit around my gut. But I would look pretty awesome at 195 —200. I'm all shoulders, chest and back. Gym 6 days a week but I struggle with my diet.

I'm in the same camp as you at 5' 11" and 189lbs. Sure I could stand to lose about ten or fifteen pounds, but the level of work it would take to reach that point is not in my schedule. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I'm 6'-0" and weigh 188 lbs this morning. That puts my BMI at a hair over 25.0, which according to the almighty govt, makes me "overweight" I'm in the same camp as you at 5' 11" and 189lbs. Sure I could stand to lose about ten or fifteen pounds, but the level of work it would take to reach that point is not in my schedule. 5'11" 190 Here. Doesn't factor in that I work maintenance in coal mines. Need to show this to my friend who is 6'5" and thinks 210 is "fat". |

5'8, 189lbs, 32 years old.
Run 3 miles in 20:45, 100 push ups in 2 minutes, 110 sit ups in 2 minutes and can do 20 dead hang pull ups, and this is 7000 ft up in Afghanistan. According to the BMI I'm obese. It's a garbage system. |
|
5' 10" 190 lbs. "overweight"
I biked over 2000 miles this year and ran a couple hundred. I guess that just motivates me to do more next season because I'm so fat. |

<cartman> I'm not fat, I just have a sweet hockey body </cartman>

I am 47, 5'11 and weigh 195. I run 25-30 miles a week and lift 3 times a week, my BP is 115/69, resting heart rate 43 bpm, my cholesterol is low, I eat healthy, and have a very active lifestyle (I run half marathons and one full marathon every year, cycle, and backpack once a month). But, according to the .gov I am overweight and a health risk because my BMI is 27.1 - a standard devised between 1830-1850, yes, nearly 200 fucking years ago. Everyone knows it is complete and utter bullshit, yet the .gov will be using it as the standard to judge a person's health. The BMI does not consider body fat or physical performance measures like VO2 max, BP, heart rate, and strength and physical capacity (pushups, pullups, 2 mile run, etc). Using the BMI to assess physical fitness is like using leeches to treat cancer.

That BMI chart has been dogging me since grade school. A few years ago I went on the divorce diet and got to within 40 lbs of where that chart says I should be. I looked like a skeleton with a 10 dollar pumpkin head perched on my shoulders.

What the fuck im 6'6 260lbs and they say im obese, I put in 235 and they still say I'm obese. Kinda seems like bullshit

I am 5'10" and about 205lbs. According to BMI, I am on the edge of obesity at 29.4. (Obese starts at 29.9.) http://www.pbase.com/rikwriter/image/140089662.jpg This was me at 190lbs when I was in training for a marathon. That's me running about 45-50 miles per week. Currently I run about 20-25 and lift 4 times a week. I could probably stand to lose about 5-10lbs but working a lot and fitting in exercise when I can takes its toll, along with being 48. The farthest I run anymore is about 10 miles. View Quote What a freaking fatty. You are so overweight in that photo. You should be booted off obamacare immediately. |

33 -> 23 in 18 months
A lot of that is probably lost muscle mass though. |

I'm at 22.5 BMI currently but my goal weight would put me right at 25.

6'0 and 204lbs and I agree that I am overweight.
I'd be ideal at about 180-190. I started the year at 215 though so I'm not complaining. That calculator has to be broken though. I played around with the numbers for my height and even 140 lbs would be considered "normal weight" for me. Yeah...maybe on a NYC fashion runway or a Nazi concentration camp. |
|
BMI is skewed for normal height people.
Midgits are biased for, meaning they are fatter than their BMI indicates. Tall people ( ) are biased against, meaning we are thinner than our BMI indicates. I got third place in a 5k with a BMI of 27.3 (race had about 100 people). But yeah, I'm overweight now. |

I've been down to what my supposed "ideal" weight is. I looked sickly. |

I'm a legit fatty right now, but even at my prefereed weight of 200-215 I"d be considered a fatty. I'm a stocky son of a bitch, and I lift.
I always beat the house at those silly weight guessing games at carnivals and amusement parks. ETA: I'm 5'-7" |

5'11" 175#
"Normal weight" I run, workout and play ice hockey on a regular basis. I'm not by any means the image of "in-shape" but I'm good enough condition. BMI is still retarded |
|
|
Overweight... Barely. I'm deep into a cut atm, considering my bmi currently, I'll need to be around 7% bf to cross the threshold to normal normal weight, by even then I'm right at 25.
|
|
I am 6'4" and 275 pounds, and am down from an all time high of 340 pounds. According to their calculations, my BMI is 31.5, making me obese.
Makes me chuckle…I bet 90% of the people that are in the so called 'healthy range' could not finish a workout with me though…most of them would vomit half through a HIIT session. |
|
According to BMI I'm on the upper end of normal. According to friends and family I could make good money being an extra in a holocaust movie.

|
The one time in my adult life, i was actually even CLOSE to my "Optimal BMI" which according to the chart was STILL Overweight..I had people asking me daily how my Chemo was going...... I felt like shit, I looked WORSE.. fuck the BMI Table
|
|
Yeah. Working on changing that though.
ETA: not because of the govt recommendations. |
|
6'3 215-220.. Wouldn't be able to tell by looking at me, most people think I'm lying when I tell them my weight
