Are there other brand machines that can use actual K-cups? Lots of em, and the one I posted has a basket filter. Soooooo... All the DRM is doing is encouraging people to buy from their competition... Bingo I was on the verge of getting a Keurig coffee maker... This just made the decision a lot easier. |

How is this different than an oil filter on your car? Or gasoline?

A member here did a hack by cutting the scanned portion of the cup off an "official" k-cup and pasting it over the DRM-scanning eye. Pretty nice workaround. (Coffee wants to be free! ) Yeah, I don't want to mess with that. Fuck Keurig for this bullshit, I won't buy shit from them again. Several other manufacturers make kcup coffee makers. That's what I was asking, what are some good ones? I have the Cuisinart. It's excellent, and I like it much better than the Keurig it replaced. More options, seems better made, and quieter when it recycles after a brew. It is in my office breakroom, going strong after 3 years of multiple daily uses. EDIT: this one, the SS-700 |

I was thinking of buying one for the wife for Christmas and was about to start doing my homework.
Holy Cow. No homework required anymore. |

I heard a rumor the Keurig machines are made in a factory in Liberia by recovering Ebola patients. It's probably not true though...

Shit. I like coffee out of a drip brewer better, but my wife is disabled and if I'm not home, she has a hard time handling the pot and coffee grounds. We got her a Keurig and she loved it. It just crapped the bed a month ago and I doubt she'll want an off-brand coffee maker.

OK...in engrish please explain...
I just bought a Keurig for a Christmas gift (to wife and I). It's a 2.0 Does this mean I can only use Keurig K-cups and there are generic ones on there? And If I use a "new" 2.0 K-cup I can keep the chip on said cup and mount to the generic K-cups? Did I miss anything? |

Some here have said you can cut the top off those and glue them to generic cups and it will work. I don't want to mess with that though. |

I have a keurig, haven't used it for over a year as it is just not smart financially due to the amount of coffee i drink..I am better off getting beans from my local roaster.

Thanks...still in box. Perhaps I'll look for an alternative...
Will they phase out non-2.0 K-cups, so I can still get generics for another brand brewer? Might just have to stick with the old electric pot...we really only drink one cut each in the morning. |

ANY K-Cup branded "Keurig Brewed" will work. The "generic" ones that aren't branded "Keurig Brewed" won't work. It says it on the box of K-cups. Most of the K-cups available at Costco are branded. |
