Crashed INTO the building? That's what the picture and the report seems to describe.

Could be an accident, but when planes crash INTO buildings, I can't help but think it's on purpose.

ISIS sympathizer maybe?

Hit the Flight Safety Building (yes, ironic).

It said they hit the Flight Safety (training--ground school and simulator) building.  The place was probably full of students.

From the article it appears that the airplane crashed into Flight Safety, which does a lot of training on various types of aircraft.

no idea - from their site (which is VERY slow right now)

Wichita Cessna  Wichita, KS, USA
Wichita Cessna MX  Wichita, KS, USA
Wichita Hawker Beechcraft  Wichita, KS, USA
Wichita Hawker Beechcraft MX  Wichita, KS, USA

Wichita Learjet  Wichita, KS, USA

Cessna and Lear are at that location from what I see

Probably mostly corporate and charter operators use that flight safety would be my guess. I think it is a Lear jet facility.

I know they do Citation and King Air training and those two are in separate buildings on the ramp that is beside runway 01R/19L so it's the east side of the drive leading to the terminal.

Is this the building just east of the approach end of Runway 19R?  Or the facility closer to the airline terminal?

It sounds like they have not accounted for people in the plane.

Also sounds like concern for structural integrity of the building.

Runway heading to at LEAST 1000 feet.......

Then, and ONLY THEN, think about turning......

IF it all quits, point it straight ahead, and aim for something cheap and soft......

Turning back to the runway almost NEVER works out well.......Engine out, in a bit of a panic, airspeed drops, steep turn, and STALL......with NO ROOM or altitude to recover.....

That's not what it was.  The engine failure occurred on the takeoff roll or shortly thereafter.  Maybe a VMC roll into the building....it would make sense considering a) he departed 1R, b) declared a left engine failure, c) crashed into the FlightSafety building located left (west) of the runway.

That picture is mislabeled.  The FlightSafety building that the plane crashed into is the one just south of the one labeled "Us FAA" and just northwest of Signature Flight Support.

Anyone who may have also been curious where 1R was, see the picture below.

CNN has some NTSB ditz on babbling.  'She is saying just because he lost an engine is no excuse for crashing',  or some such shit.  Derp.  Um,  Yeah,  if a twin loses power in one engine on a take off roll it is going to be ugly quick.

Very sad situation.
