Pre-school. Playing in the boat, found six pack, consumed. Bad parents I spose leaving me unattended but hell I'm still here.
We were paying bums to buy us bottles in 7th grade. Definitely had a few stolen beers and shots before that.

This.  Spent the night at a buddies house with another friend the night before the last day of summer before high school.  His mom was out of town.  We killed a 1.5 liter of Kamchatka Vodka and some Cranberry Juice between the 3 of us.

I was sicker than a dog.

Whoops, I mean I just drank some 15 seconds ago.
I was 17 when I first drank a beer. Then I waited 5 years before I had another one.

I was 11 or 12 at the Soap Box Derby track on Aerojet property near Sacramento. We had to do a couple late night mods to my car in order to pass tech. My dad gave me a few sips of a mini can of Coors.

Young enough that I can't remember.  I grew up in England, it just wasn't a big deal there.  We used to be able to buy Shandy's when I was a kid there, half beer half sprite.  I didn't get drunk until I was in my 20's though.

that explains 14000 posts in 2 years.

I'd guess I was like 8. By the time I was 13 or so my parents would give me a glass. When I was 16 I got drunk for the first time. After that I drank reasonably responsibly until my college days, where there were only a few nights I should have had better judgement.

Once you have your own house you can drink whatever you want

At 12 I found a 6 pack of warm Miller in the ditch.

I was drinking regularly by the time I was 14.  Drinking a 5th a week by the time I was 18.  I topped out at about a 5th a day (not every day mind you but 1 or 2 a week) around 22.  Kept it up for a several years but starting slowing down in my late 20's.  I quit for the most part at 32 when my daughter was born.  I'll still drink 1 or 2 on occasion but not very often.

My parents never suspected, ever.

Coors, the old man was digging up a gas line in the yard while I watched and I remember him giving me a drink. I remember thinking it was horrible.

I remember my grandfather was there and he died when I was 6.

According to my dad, when I was between 1 and 2, he was mowing

the lawn and had opened a beer, setting it on the ground near me.

When he came by for his first sip, the can was empty and I had a

goofy smile going on. Later when mom came home and I was sleeping for

a long time, she was worried, dad wouldn't admit anything, just said I

must have been very tired.

I moved to Cartagena Colombia when I was 13, kids my age were clubbing till 3 am and driving, so I did as well. Fri and Sat night would consist of leaving home at around 9-9:30 to pick up a friend of two, then we would head to the stripe of road along the beach where there was about 50 other cars. I would pop the trunk to a cooler of booze and mixers and we would drink and listen to music until about 12am. Then we would all pile back in the cars and head to the clubs until about 3-4am. With maybe a stop at the late night food spot on the way home.

Dont remember, but I remember the first time I got drunk. I was 15.

With 3 other buddies camped out in a big tent.

We split a case of Coors, a pack of smokes and a bag of potato chips.

It rained like hell that night and when we woke up the next morning (soaking wet, btw) there was literally water running thru the tent and soggy chips stuck to everything.

There was a car accident on the road adjacent to the field we were camping in and I woke up to emergency sirens blaring with the "worst" headache I have ever had. Drove myself home, took a shower, some aspirin,  and slept the entire day.

Ahhh, the days of youth lol

First drink I had was when I was 3.  Dad gave my sister and I a couple of shots of bourbon when we had the flu to stop our coughs.  Tasted horrible and I don't remember much else from that night.  For some reason I've never liked bourbon and I still ended up in the hospital with pneumonia anyway.

On my own I had my first drink when I was 16 when I went to a party with some buddies and I had a six pack and a couple of shots of moonshine.

When I was maybe 9 or 10, a friend of mine took me to the lake with his family (which he often did). As the grownups were pulling the boat out of the water, my buddy and I asked if we could have a beer (it was Busch in the can). It must be delicious, right? After all, the grownups had been drinking it all day.

The conversation went something like this:

"Mr. Thomas, can we have a beer?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"You're not old enough."

"What does that have to do with it? We want to try a beer."

"No. You won't like it."

"Please? We'll like it."

"OK, fine. Here you go."

[take about one good sip each]

"Eeeeewwwww! That's gross!"

"Told you."

31. On a cruise with my wife and decided I was settled enough to try it. I was always afraid of becoming an alcoholic for a number of personal reasons. Did 4 years at LSU and 4 in the USMC without drinking a drop.

I'm 41 now and drink a beer or 2 a week, wine to unwind occasionally, and whiskey at hunting camp. Been drunk twice in 10 years and didn't care for it. I'm goofy when buzzed and the wife thinks its funny so once in a while I get loose for the heck of it.

Sips of Dads beer was around 7 or 8.

My first beers of my own were when I was 12 or 13.

My older cousin stayed with us for the summer and he had a party while my parents were away and I got smashed drinking cheap red bull malt liquor.

They did not let me go to the KISS concert with him that summer because they were worried what would happen. Little did they know, he was already a bad influence. Or maybe they did.

... as a very young child, one of my teenage uncles evidently slipped me some beer at one of my family's wedding ceremonies (I don't recall). Mom was very pissed I hear. Evidently it got somewhat ugly, I sure don't remember. But it still makes for some interesting dialog at family gatherings even 52 YEARS LATER

I was 10 and stole a bottle of Genesee from the cooler at a family 4th of July party and slunk off to the woods with it.

It was 1981... and I thought it tasted horrible, but drank the whole thing.

ETA: I don't remember if I was drunk or not, but I imagine I was considering my size and age.

It was one of these little grenade bottles. I don't even know if they make them anymore.

That Christmas  another cousin and I thought we were being cool and sneaking drinks out of the liquor cabinet. Both of us ended up puking our guts out much to the adults amusement.

When I was about nose high to a folding table, probably 5ish.  My dad and uncles would play cards and have a couple of beers during family gatherings,  My cousins and I would go beg and bother them till they gave us each a swig.  Always Shlitz or Schmidty big mouths, it seemed like the bottle opening would cover half your face.  When I was about 14 I sat down and had a beer w/ my grandpa at a wedding.

between 5-7.  I asked grandpa if I could have beer.  He gave me some rubles and sent me across the street to buy him a 2L bottle.  My mom watched me from the balcony.

Got half way through my cup and had my grandpa finish the rest for me.

I have a hazy memory of being maybe 4-5 and my dad letting me have a sip of his beer while we were watching football on tv.

13 or 14 on a church camping trip some of us snuck out of the cabins and split a Budweiser.

When I was 15 I went on an overnight school trip for some academic competition in a college town. One of the girls (who was cool, smoking hot, had giant boobs, and ended up being an SEC cheerleader) convinced me to go to the 7-11 and try to buy some alcohol. Even though I was clearly underage, didn't have even a fake ID, and used the excuse of "oh man, I guess I left my ID in the dorm" the 7-11 dude let me buy a 4-pack of wine coolers. Took the wine coolers back to the girl's room and was like "yeah girl here you go, no problems..... OK have fun, see you tomorrow." She basically made this face: but I just strutted back to my room thinking I was Mr Coolguy because I was able to buy alcohol. The fact that she expected to share the wine coolers and at the very least let me motorboat her majestic boobs never even occurred to me. No joke I bet at least 5 years passed before I facepalmed.

Don't know when I had my first taste.  Maybe 4 or 5?  My dad and his brothers were old school Georgia Rednecks.  When I was 18 the legal drinking age was also 18.  But my first time ever getting shit face drunk in a bar was at the age of 15.  This was 19 and 79, College Park, Georgia.

Terrible situation. I suspect there are people on arfcom who were part of this...

My family had a big house on about 30 acres near the smallish town I grew up in. (Sorry grammar nazis, ending the sentence with "in"...)

Lots of our family's friends got married at my home. Most of the weddings were small, mellow affairs.

When I was 12, my dad's best friend got re-married at our house. I later learned there were 300 people there. We had cases of crappy champagne and cases of Cold Duck. My brother and I drank all we could get our hands on and it hurt.

I puked all night long. The memory of collecting the plastic "corks" from the back of the house still haunts me. We picked them up for YEARS.

I say maybe around 10.  When my dad and his friends were building our house, at the end of the day was beer time.  My dad's friends ended up tossing me a bud light.   My dad told me to try it.  I tried it, it sucked.  Everyone was laughing.  I only could drink half of it.  I think the first time I drank a full bottle or bottles was when I was around 15.
