I got beat with a Vietnam era utility belt, as well as anything in range when I was that age. Hell, 9 years old is back-hand age. Fuck nanny state people. I don't think he or she did anything wrong.

LOL last month everyone here was crying about how good of a mother she is and we should be ashamed for making fun of their hillbillyness.

My mom carried a giant metal slotted serving spoon in her purse to keep us inline. She would just randomly hit whoever was closest and scream.

Well... Golly who knew white trash could be violent...... Or even RAPE a kid...... Fucking disgusting people. I hope Will burns in Hells for the rest of time.

That family is full of surprises. But getting a few bruises from a spanking? I think we all got those as kids. No, we didn't, and no, it's never acceptable. Fuck child abusers. Can't say my parents ever left me bruised either. I love the masses that proclaim their parents beat them and that's it's somehow good. |

bitch please. my mom beat me with a hot wheels track. those things are deadly painful weapons.

My buddy was paddled in 8th grade so hard that he spotted blood and bruised where the principle hit him with the paddle. Knowing my biddy he probably egged on the principle. That's the only time I ever saw my buddies dad cuss. Like his dad said, he wasn't pissed about my buddy getting his ass whooped because he probably earned it but the severity that caused the bruising and bleeding. No blood, and really bruising can be over the top, but it can also be an accidental bruising or light enough not to be child abuse. It depends on the severity of the bruise, IMO. |

Lets face it... With the exception of Flem.. The show was borderline Juggalo, ghetto trash at its best.
Will is the poster boy for Pedo Bear & now the truth comes out about fat boy & snaggle tooth. Do we need this kind of publicity in the gun industry? |

Mixed feelings on the issue of giving your kid a whoopin'. I got my ass tanned plenty, deserved every bit of it. Mom used hot wheel track (until I just started laughing at her). My dad used a belt. I never got hit hard enough to bruise.
I never beat my kids, never had to, different times and different methods. Oh they got a swat once in a while, but no track, belts, no cat o' nine tails. Just an open handed smack and a stern warning. It seemed to work. Kids need a correction every now and then HOWEVER the kid is not HIS kid. You beat my kid, I'd be pissed enough that you'll never do it again. You beat him hard enough to leave a bruise, they will never find your body. |
|
|
You guys haven't even seen the bruises on the kid so how do you know it was just a regular spanking? And whoever called and reported it must have saw that it was worth calling the police. If the kid told police his mom was in the room also sounds like the kid was hurting pretty bad to tell on his mom.

You can bruise a child by simply rough-housing. Not to mention that some children bruise easily, and some hardly at all. It MIGHT be evidence of abuse, but it's not definitive. Don't be obtuse about it. |

However, there's a difference between punishment and hitting them because you are pissed and lose your cool. In other words, it should hurt you (emotionally) more than it hurts them (physically). |

Not that this makes your opinion less valid (or mine more valid), but my perspective is that of a father of three. To date, I've never left any marks on backsides. But sometimes kids squirm. If I were to bruise one and someone were to see it, I could very well find myself in the same position as the family in the OP. Sorry to hear about your ex's kid. |
