A high school student in Washington state opened fire in a cafeteria at lunchtime, leaving one person dead and at least four injured before killing himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
Eyewitnesses and law enforcement sources identified the shooter as Jaylen Fryberg, a freshman at Marysville Pilchuck High School. Marysville police administrative commander Robb Lamoureaux earlier declined to identify the suspect, but said he was a male student at the school. No metal detectors and and no SRO. This wasn't in some backwoods podunk town. The front doors opened right up to the cafeteria. |

I knew where my dad kept his guns and if I wanted to check one out all I had to do was ask. They weren't a big deal. I only came here to add to the 30 pages we're going to get.... But yeah i wonder what gun laws the grabbers will hawk on that could have prevented this....Last I heard you can't legally buy a gun, from a person, a gun show, or online if your 14....

Require all firearms to be locked and unloaded with requirements for ammo to be locked up separately. Ban people who are domiciled with mental health patients from owning firearms. |

On a long enough time time, bad things happen... and those things can't be solved by legislation.
We may never know if it was anti-depressants, or bullying, or just a weak character flaw - but the gun didn't cause the problem - the kid has to ultimately take responsibility for his actions. |
