Miglia Alpine, Sunbeam Alpine, or Renault Alpine?

The Sunbeam was a front engine car, the Renault a rear engine, and Miglia's Alpine was rear engine.

I wonder how many other makers latched onto Alpine for a model name.

Renault Dauphine; those were common enough around the US.

Alpines were rear as well.

And drop a Ford 260 V8 into a Sunbeam Alpine and you get a Tiger.

Now there was a car that was a rolling turd but ahead of its time. Sadly all it was was an elaborate money laundering psalm by Delorean. Didn't Johnny Carson loose a buttload of money as an investor?

Technically I think Smart cars are rear engined.

DeLorean was mid-engined.

Not sure how much he lost, but he was in investor.

Well hesh my mouf.

I think they soft pedaled it - I'm aware as friend of my parents had one growing up. I was all over the thing thinking it was cool as shit. Little did I know the 240/280Z I owned at the time would be much better received by history They had a Maserati Biturbo and an XJ12  as well - they didnt have the best taste/luck with cars.

A friend of mine owned a Biturbo once upon a time.  Couldn't get rid of fast enough.
