not to knock the 747, but i have to give the 707 the nod for pure airliner grace.

Nothing can hold a candle to a Boeing 307. Truly a beautiful aircraft.

I grew up around them, my dad worked for Braniff and I remember getting to play in them when he was working on them, this was long before the TSA saved us from all the terror
fat albert was always fun to go up in, we always went up through the nose gear.

Every time I walk up to a 747 all I think is "this thing actually flys?" They are huge.
Yes I know it's not the biggest plane out there, but it's pretty big. |

It is an amazing machine. Have a friend who has some co-pilot time in them......says they r real docile and easy to fly.

747 is the quintessential American Jet. I am confident that they will be flying for well over a century. Mabe even two.

the only airplane that comes close is the DC-3, an elegance of a time gone by.

Nice bird, but not commercial It ain't the 747, of any version due to my aversion. Nothing beats a Super Connie or a clean DC-3. |

The Connie is a Princess among swine. And while most will dismiss the idea of something new being elegant, the 787 is the best big airliner yet: http://i.imgur.com/quJlu05.jpg View Quote Is that a Screamliner? |

In for pictures of beautiful airplanes.
So far not disappointed. |

787 - still working out the bugs on this, game changer design, with all electric, no bleed air.
A380 - Meh. 747-400 - Mac Daddy 787-8 - Sweeeet 777 - Work horse |

If we're ignoring deprecated models, I'm a big fan of the 773ER. Love those huge twin engines and the 6 wheeled gear. Just a cool looking plane.

A classic indeed. I also think the A340-600 is an incredibly graceful and impressive. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Rt_G6QwUYf8/TNEBV2OPKBI/AAAAAAAAAKk/27BEfNlaywg/s1600/LAX_Virgin_Atlantic.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

One of my favorite airplanes
We were supposed to fly on a 747 for our honeymoon in Hawaii. We had a nonstop flight from Atlanta to Honolulu. I was so excited! Then at the last minute stupid Delta airlines changes it to a freaking Airbus 330. I was so pissed! |
