Ok, so I'm replacing Widows XP with Windows 7 on a virtual drive.

The drive is set up on a MacBook Pro using Parallels.

Windows 7 doesn't come with an email client and I'm not a fan of Internet Explorer.

I use this drive to run our accounting software so security is really the primary concern. So put it on me what y'all like...

If it makes any difference I use Norton 360 for the security suite.

First, ditch norton, its beyond useless.

Second, either Firefox or Chrome, with adblock installed.

Third - Thunderbird for email

This - Get Chrome + Ghostery + Adblock + HTTPS everywhere.

Check your email in your browser over HTTPS unless your mail client has a secure connection.

I've been using Avast, Malwarebytes and Spybot for atleast 7 years now. I haven't had any problems since. Why pay for Nortons or Mcafee when there are better free alternatives?
