dont do it.  the first kit is cheap, but the you end up buying 50 more and want to start the next one, so you open it and look at all the parts, and then lose interest in the first one, but refuse to start the second one until the first one is done.  feedback loop.  funk.  irritation.  anger.  acceptance.

then the airbrushes and compressor.  paints.  knives.  putty.  all the time gone.  angry spouse.

dont do it.

Nicely done, OP.
I have all kinds of spacecraft models to get started on, including 3 1/96 scale Saturn V models and a 1/72 Saturn V model.
Ebay has some good deals on models & supplies.

It's cheap! I got it at hobby lobby for $20 bucks!
I enjoyed every hour I spent! It's a stress reliever. It's a Revell
Level 2 kit (F-15) there are some for $150 but they have metal parts
As well and they are very detailed

Back in the 80's I went to school at UMSL which is near Lambert Airport where McDonnell Douglas built the F15.
Those F15s would take off doing a Viking departure going straight up with the AB on.....it was an awesome sight.

I'm 52..my kids are grown...and I enjoy building a model when time allows.

a tip to the OP...a light coat of Future floor wax before you lay down the decals will help them settle..and hide edges...after they dry a light coat of dull-coat will take the gloss off and the decals will appear to be painted on......a pic of one my older builds...

Been awhile since I built one, but I scratchbuild simple 1/700 cruisers and battleships from two view drawings out of balsa, bass, wire, etc. USS Nevada late war and USS St Louis. Tumblehome and bow shear are, "challenging". The dish on St Louis is sliced off the round end of a big neoprene vacuum cap.

Looks good, ben.  When you do your F-14 might I suggest you try your hand at the oil wash panel lining technique?  Basically once you have your paintjob mostly done you spray varnish the model with a gloss coat.  Then using a thinned oil paint you dab paint into the recessed panel lines, wipe away the excess and then varnish again in a satin finish.  Works wonders.

Here's an article about how to do it...
http://www.scalespot.com/reference/panellines/panellines.htm

And at about the 3:15 mark is a Russian dude showing the technique in a Warhammer 40k tank.

Very nice looking model... You did an Outstanding job on it!

My Neighbor.. Who passed away a few years back was stationed on the USS Missouri during WW2...

Before his passing he gave me a 56 inch Model made of mostly all wood of the Missouri...It even has a battery powered engine in it...

I need to finish putting the catapult on the back of the ship and then it will be complete.

I have it sitting on the mantel overtop of my fireplace...It truly is beautiful and huge...

My next model will probably be the USS Arizona...

What other models have you completed in the past?
