Larue UHFO winner!
Even better than that, I'm still here after having a tumor taken out of me last year (and a nice chunk of my colon with it) and another taken out this year (along with 65-70% of my liver). But that's kind of like suffering a blowout loss so you can score a comeback win. Not really recommended. Biggest win of my life is my wife. After seeing/hearing how many problems guys have with the opposite sex I love her more every day. Sorry, she's camera shy though. |

When I was in college decades ago, my girlfriend's sorority was selling raffle tickets for a football signed by the team. I bought a few. I was in an engineering fraternity and we had a spot down on the field at the Homecoming game. The raffle was held at halftime. In a stadium full of people at the University of Dayton, they read my number. I jumped up and down and made some noise, and then started my jog around the track at the back of the end zone. I'm sure a lot of people saw me. I climbed the stands to the press box, and when I entered, the girl who sold me the ticket said with disdain, "Oh, it's you."

A toboggan when I was in Junior High. My brother came home from the ice cream store to tell me I had won. I had no idea what he was talking about, since I hadn't entered any contests. Turns out my parents had eaten there and each filled out an entry with my name. One of them hit. |

We won free cupcakes for a year from a local place 2 years ago.
Right after they opened a location by our house, they were doing a contest where some of the cup cakes had a sticker on the bottom. If you got one of those, you were a winner. My daughter wanted to go there for her birthday, so we went and got a dozen cupcakes and one was a winner. So, we got 6 cup cakes every week for a year. Its the only thing I've ever won. |

I was a 15 year old kid. I was an amateur radio operator. I had a used transmitter but it would only work code, not voice. I had no money for any additional equipment. I went to a ham fest, my name was entered into a drawing, my name was called, I had won a modulator. I was now on AM voice. A most appropriate and timely prize for me at the time. It was something very special and I still remember the thrill after many, many years.

CD case from the cap of a gatorade bottle in about 1997. It was 10x as exciting because it wasn't that "enter code online" BS that all of the giveaways are these days.
ETA: I just forgot that I won a $1K waterski at a boatshow once. No lotto winnings or scratch offs will be in my future. I don't do gambling. |

Actually won was a Rem 870 at a raffle. I guess the other thing that I "won" was $19k from my grandparents in '07. They had saved for my siblings and I for college but I went into the service and had the GI bill, so they gave it to me a couple years after I got out. Told me to spend it how I see fit, I invested most and used a little to get out of debt still have it plus some at this point. Biggest winning I ever got was my grandparents and their concern for our future.

Won a $300 bow case from a bow shop that had just opened up. Went in once to see what it is all about and put in for the raffle for their grand opening. Got a call 3 days later that I had won their grand prize.
4 months later I had an old crossbow restrung there for $40. Only business I ever gave them. Its a nice case though. Still have my old PSE in it. |

When I was in middle school I won tickets to see White Zombie from the radio station. I even convinced my parents to let me go until they found out I had been smoking weed with my friend. My mom tore 'em up. The only part that sucked was the friend I smoked with's dad was dying from cancer at the time and his funeral was actually the very next day and I was going to take him.
I won a pmag here by correctly guessing a type of pie. When I was about 13 or so, my mom bought my brother and I each a scratch off lottery ticket. Mine was shit, but my brother won $40. My mom went in to cash it and handed each of us $20. He was pissed.

A Trek Mountain Bike. It was a "no purchase required" drawing from the local Public Radio campaign drive. It was limited to only people who registered online and I figured most people wouldn't bother, so I registered. When I received a call to tell me I won, I didn't believe them and thought they were trying to solicit a donation to Public Radio. The lady calling was like..."well you don't sound excited that you won".
