I bought the rifle for a wild game feed raffle. Imagine my surprise when we ask some little kid to draw a ticket and he calls my name. That was the start of the black rifle disease. Gave it to my dad, but have several others now. |

I never win crap but I have to tell the story about the last Friends of the NRA banquet I attended.
They had bucket drawings for 3 different guns. You put your ticket in the bucket of the gun you want to win and they draw out the winning ticket. The first ticket drawn was for someone that had already left, so they drew another. Guy goes up all excited and claims his gun and is walking away to go fill out the paperwork and the person running the drawing says, Hey come back you have to draw the next winner. The lucky bastard goes back and draws his own ticket, which was the next sequential number of his first winning ticket, out of the second bucket and wins another gun! |

Got drunk and ran out of cigarettes, so i walked to the local gas station. Bought smokes and a scratch off. I proceeded to win $10, so i rolled it into another, different, ticket. Won again. And again.
I won $210 in various amounts on 5 successive scratch tickets. True story. |

Corporate golf tournament.
Spun a pitching wedge back 15' to win closest to the hole. Ended up about a 18-20" away and I was surprised it held up. Won a printer. And we needed one at the time, so it was pretty cool for us. |

A thank you whoohoo from a stunningly hot woman I was helping out.

100 bucks on a lotto ticket I got as a gift.
I hit a jackpot at a slot machine that paid 800 bucks. I won a poker tournament that paid 2600, which i guess was a prize, but really was just me making 300 bucks an hour by getting lucky |

Quoted:
Including lotto, sweepstakes, drawing, etc? A whole lot of nothing for me. View Quote Ditto... I've never won any drawings or prizes or lotto- nothing. When ever I've bought a scratch ticket which is rare, I usually win what I paid for the ticket and leave-lol |

My ex-wife and I work together. Our location won a big award from our company and they rewarded us with among other things a steak cookout and 7 people would win prizes from one of the compamy's award websites with some very nice prizes. At a full meeting of all of the location's employees the manager announced he would have a drawing for the prizes. He had a bucket with well over 100 names on slips of paper and ask for a volunteer to pick 7 names out of the bucket. Nobody came forward to volunteer so he looked around and picked my ex-wife to draw the names . First name she drew out of the bucket was mine. She looked like she wanted to throw up. I got a 50 inch Samsung led tv out of it. Karma is a BITCH.

2 gun cases and 2 shotguns (one of which was a new A5) at a DU banquet last year. I stacked the deck in my favor though. I had a 1/10 on the Browning because I had a corporate table. Then I bought 3 silent auction duck calls at the last minute that no one had bid on. That gave me a 3/10 shot at the other gun.

I like to moan I never win anything like everyone else. But on reflection it's just true. I never win on lottery/poweball tickets and just damn near never win on scratch tickets, I've won $40 twice in 25 yrs and can't tell when I last won back even $1.
But in 1966, first grade, I won a cool model of the Gemini scapegoat capsule from a kids after school tv show. Anyone remember Major Astro on the NBC affilate out of Wichita? 3 or 4 years later I won a stingray bike from the local Gambles store. A few years ago I won a benefit raffle here. Bought two $20 tickets and won a 1 in 7 CavArms glow-on-the-dark preproduction AR15. Had pictures at the time but they're no longer on my Photobucket account. |

Coming back through Oklahoma last night my daughter wanted to stop at the Choctaw casino since she had never been in one. When we walked in she felt that one of the machines was calling to her. She waited for a little while until it was clear and made one five dollar play and won $45. I was messing around with the quarter slots and ended up one dollar ahead. Then we got back in the truck and headed home.

Won a MC Tour of New Zealand. About a $4000 deal at the time that ended up costing me $6500 because for some reason the wife insisted on going as well.

I should add that I have also hit two video poker machines in 7-11s.
Both times they had Super Big Gulps on sale for sixty some cents. I got a quarter change and dropped it in the poker machine as I walked out. Twice I hit Royal Flushes. I think I won $75 each time. Afterwards I had to listen to people saying.....you fucked up. You should have had the machine loaded and would have won a grand or whatever it is. Talk about glass is half empty people.......I risked a quarter to win $75 and that isn't good enough ? I wouldn't have played it if it cost me any more than a quarter. |
|
I won $2,000 on a $1 super lotto ticket one time (and I hardly ever play lottery) and it couldn't have come at a better time either. I know it was a fluke though and I don't play unless it is over 100 mil and still I'll only bet $1 even then.
