I like em
I have two hard boiled eggs at home that are sitting in a jar of jalapenos - well, the juice of the jalapenos minus the jalapenos. I sometimes put them in pickle juice as well Maybe I need to try them in some peperoccinni. Let them soak in the juices in the fridge for a month or so.... Yummy |

I usually do them in my vegetable steamer since it's easier than boiling. But the oven is even easier than the steamer. Do they come out same consistency in the oven? |

Well, I might eat one for enough money, but keeping it down would be out of the question. The GOD my husband doesn't like them either. |

I recently had a Scotch Egg, which is a hard boiled egg covered in a sausage based batter, then deep fried. Delicious. http://bait2plate.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/scotch-egg-2.jpg View Quote |

Two things I am now forbidden to take camping are vienna sausages and boiled eggs.

Are they good made as egg salad?
Never had a pickled egg, and I do like eggs. |

Alton is the man... Just made a batch. Eggscelent. Thanks for the link, previous poster!

If I'm not in a hurry I cook mine in an immersion circulator (sous vide) and they come out perfect. The conventionally cooked ones are just about as good though. Sous vide is better for soft yolks.
ETA: as far as pickled eggs go, beet juice is great but I like mine in a Carolina style vinegar sauce. |
