i got my property tax bill yesterday... $114.90...... for 123.313 acres. there are no structures on it yet, but still, i think thats dirt cheap for 123 acres. what do you pay?

I guess I'm doing it all wrong! not even .18 acres, yes not even a 1/4 of an acre, and a 2400sq/ft house $3800 and we have a special "town tax" for being in a certain district $800 and that's per year
I'm a lucky one in CT, .7 acres, $2,400. My town has notoriously low taxes thanks to a cheapass (in a good way, mostly) Republican mayor we had for decades. He's gone now and the taxes have been steadily increasing under Democrat rule.

A little over $900 for around $120k appraised. However, the no structures part makes a big difference here. My wife's family owns 78 acres, with no structures, and paid $82 in taxes last year.

I'm paying right around $1,000 a year property taxes for the house and lot it sits on.
$275k , 2600 sq ft with full basement on 3/4 acre. $840 per year.
$420 something. Small lot and stick house. Tax increases capped and the first $25k of assessed value negated.
3.5 acres with nothing on it = $1100
.23 acres with 1700 sq ft house = $3200 |
I wonder why the mass migration out of the North. I can't wait to get out of this State. Taxes kill me up here.

Around $1200 a year after the so called homeowners tax break!!
For what we get out of it, it is most def too high!! ETA 1/2 acre w 2 story 2500ish Sqf house, nothing else but a majorly restrictive HOA!! Last time I will ever be part of the communist scourge known as HOA!! |

Quoted:
About $15K a year, mostly to send illegal kids to school View Quote That is probably what a lot of people in So Cal would be paying if it wasn't for prop 13. Instead the tards in the Cali legislature keep spending more and more on schooling for illegals and kick that can farther down the road. I pay just under $5k a year for a house valued on "Zillo" around $600k+. The value went up quite a bit in recent years. I paid $430k in 2009. |

$3200.00. Turns i pay more for a corner lot too. View Quote You should get a discount, I've read that corner lots are more prone to crime. I know that one down the street from me had a couple of ATV's lifted. Of course they were parked in an open carport. But do some research and see if you can trim that bill. $706 on a 150k home. |

What fucks me on property taxes is school taxes which is the vast majority of property taxes here in PA. Plus they penalise you for improving your home- deck, paved driveway, landscaping all a penalty. I have a nice looking smaller modest home on less than 2 acres - $3800 per year. People living in a run down trailer with a dump in their front yard on a dirt road pay next to nothing...more junk=less tax penalty.
I think its time to one, roll back local government/school spending (of course) and two, shift the school tax burden here away from the property owner to a sales a tax. At least that way momma, baby daddy and their spawn living in public housing get to share the cost of schooling their kids. |

Just under $5k in taxes, assessment value $589k. Also another $700 for 20 acres of fields next to me.
House in MI is about $150k and I pay close to $4k for that. |

Commercial or personal??? Virginia, Texas, or Florida

45K. 1/2 acre.
Fuck you Long Island. also have commercial property in nassau cty... appx. 13k sq foot retail ... mom and pop stores and some offices....90K. |
What I pay per year on my home in NYS pays the taxes on my home in Delaware FOR TWELVE FUCKING YEARS.
where I come from? $40,000 for a 1/4 acre.
where I am now? $3600 for a 1/8 acre. |
In TX(Dallas county), I was paying over 4k for my home that was assessed for $185k.
Here in TN, I think my taxes are somewhere near $1,400 for my home that is a assessed for 260k. Because of that, my payment went down and I got a full acre more than I had there. |
About 900 on my house and 6000 in my cabin (different counties and cabin on forest land os worth about three times what the house is.)
