I'm looking for something in the foot locker size or bigger that is waterproof and airtight to do some long term storage in.  I'd like to stay away from Pelican just because of their cost.   Any ideas or suggestions?

Surplus cases if you get lucky.

But if you really want waterproof, you are gonna have to pony up to Pelican prices.  Keep looking and you may find some used ones on CL local.  Shipping kills you on such items.

Sadly, OP is looking for the Unicorn brand  storage cases.

Only if they're made by elves.

Didn't think an airtight storage container would be that difficult to find.  Guess I was wrong

They are if you add enough silicone caulk!

ETA:

Expectations for a tough, airtight storage container for cheap - without modifications - is probably unreasonable BUT a reasonably well constructed and priced container can be MADE water/air tight  with some modifications IF you don't need to get into it frequently (i.e., longer term storage).  Even for watertight spec'd boxes I recommend taking precautions like vacuum sealing, desiccant packs, O2 packs, grease, etc., at least for critical, sensitive items.

The Dewalt Tough boxes are great.

Stanley has a 29 inch structural foam tool box for $30 that is heavy duty with a good gasket seal.
