Quoted: Who the hell is KC's radio guy? I was listening on my way home, and you think this guy could perform open heart surgery in the middle of Hue by the way he was commentating the Eighth. View Quote I forget his name, but he's ancient. He's been the Royals radio guy from Day 1 of the franchise. He has literally called every game they have played. He's a Hall of Famer.

I like his way of calling games. It was very neutral even toned, and well done. I'm still partial to Bob Walk and Steve Blass though. |

And.....fucking Perez.
Just a lousy single was all we needed. |

How young is that guy? Seemed like he had big game syndrome. He's never been to October baseball obviously, it's a completely different game in October. Or last day of September, either way. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

It's going to come down to wasted opportunities for KC. In the 9th, 10th, and 11th they had a chance to put Oakland away.

If the Royals end up not winning, at least they didn't go down softly.

1 down.
The Royal's radio team is convinced that this is an omen that this is the Royal's year. |

Welp thats one Cali team down. Angels and Dodgers next to be eliminated.

Fell asleep before I could finish the guy. Laughed when I saw Oakland blow it.

Crap I didn't realize they were doing the one game wildcard. I guess I looked at it like the As were already the wildcard playing the AL Central.
That was one hell of a game though. Lets go Giants tonight. |

Pirates and Giants are two very close teams statisticly.
Pirates are 2nd in the NL in batting WAR, the Giants are 4th. Pirates are 2nd in the NL in wRC+, Giants are third. Giants are 13th in the NL in pitching WAR, Pirates are 14th. Giants have a 3.50 team ERA, Pirates are 3.49. Pirates won 51 games at home, Giants won 43 games on the road (that's pretty good BTW). This should be a game!

Glad the Royals won, but I have to say, I am not a fan of this playoff layout. I don't even look at the wildcard as a playoff game, it is more of a "play in game." If you use one game to determine a tie breaker, that is all good, but one game series that determine whether a team moves on or goes home should not be scheduled. Baseball is a game of series. Even the fucking regular season is in series.

The worst part is that the way it's set up now, the team with the better record could get bounced in 1 game by a team with a worse record. That doesn't make sense. |

Even the fucking regular season is in series. View Quote I partially agree, however the extra wild card really makes the season more exciting. If a team doesn't want to play a one game series, win your division. I've thought of ways around it, maybe a 3 game playoff but that would leave too much time off for the division winners. Same with having a bye week system like football. If 2 teams were added, you could go to a 4 division format with 2 wildcard teams. But then you have to get 6 down to 2 without having the top teams sit around for a week and a half. Plus last night was really a game and a half. |

Let's go pirates! Beat those Giants so the Dodgers don't have to waste their time with them.
