If his colleagues get it from him, will MSNBC classify it as workplace virulence?

I heard on the radio a while back that there is a 30-40% chance of someone carrying Ebola into the US before the end of this year. I was wondering the same thing. Seems like it would be cheap (or free if wanted to go that way) to fill a couple viles full of infected blood, put them in your checked luggage on a plane bound for ANY metro area. |

Ebola is not really that big of a deal in the United States. We wash our hands so even if Ebola gets out in the community, it's still not a major issue.

I don't know about you but, having a whole day care, school college, gym get wiped out is not acceptable. I would really like to see the modeling behind it's transmission rate. If Ebola ever found it's way into a place like Disney World, with it's 2-3 week period of contagiousness the death tolls would make the numbers now look small. I know for a fact, that over the course of 2 days at WDW Ebola could have been transferred to me at least 30 times. Everyone was sweaty people would bump into you, kids would bump into you, you would wipe your brow, then sweat into your eyes, mouth, etc. You have a 1 year old with you, you kiss and hug them. Now all three of you are carriers. You come home and see both grand parents, kisses and hugs for them too, they kiss and hug their other grand kids which kiss and hug their parents. You then send your kids to day care, those damn kids put everything in their mouth, those the other kids are carriers, then rinse wash repeat. The only thing Ebola does that is good is it burns out quick, but I just laid out a scenario that can infect all those people even before symptoms show up. Please tell me I am wrong. |

Leaving unwanted babies in the side street dumpster or restaurant bathroom is not all that far behind. And there are already areas that are no-go for police/fire/EMT in the inner cities. People seem quite confident that the US has some huge advantage in containment. I'm just not quite sure how durable it is.

http://www.wfaa.com/story/news/health/2014/09/29/dallas-presbyterian-hospital-ebola-patient-isolation/16460629/ DALLAS — A Dallas hospital is holding a patient in "strict isolation" as that person is evaluated for possible exposure to the deadly Ebola virus.
In a statement issued Tuesday night, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas said the patient was admitted based on symptoms and "recent travel history." The hospital, located at Greenville Avenue and Walnut Hill Lane in Northeast Dallas, said it is complying with all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and the Texas Department of Health to ensure the safety of other patients and medical staff. Preliminary results of tests on the patient are expected from the CDC on Tuesday. When Ebola starts to show up in Mexico then we need to worry big time as they will not only pour across the border seeking medical help spreading it like wild fire in border States, those coming illegally with early stages will naturally disperse all over the country before they get sick enough to require medical attention spreading it all the way across America.
Due to the enticement of easy access to the US via our southern border, this too is only a matter of time. |
