They just don't get it.

If I am exposed to ebola (and not symptomatic), I'm going to sit back and spend the next 21 days drinking bourbon and catching up on books I've been meaning to read. I sure as hell won't be interacting with other people.

Sources said Spencer went bowling last night in Williamsburg and took an Uber car to get there and back, 1010 WINS’ Carol D’Auria reported.

No big deal.

Dallas nurse Amber Vinson no longer has Ebola, family says...as
first photos inside her sanitized home reveal crews ripped out carpet,
cleared shelves and even emptied her fridge

  • Family of the Dallas nurse said Wednesday that tests by medical officials were no longer able to detect the virus in her body

  • Cleaning crews removed over 50 barrels of hazardous waste from her Dallas apartment

except for the food, and any open food product, if they developed a protocol to heat everything in the apt. to, say, 120 degrees for a few days, that should be enough to degrade any virus in there so everything would not need to be cleaned out.

Is that the usual protocol for sanitizing residences of EVD patients, or does this imply she spend a few days making her apartment look like it was repainted by a garden sprinkler?

as I recall from what stories mentioned anything, it didn't look like pham's resident didn't have more than a few barrels outside her unit.

Gotcha. "Cleaning" is a non-scary euphemism for scorched earth personal effects removal, light demo, etc.

Excellent point. I have two sons under 12 and a boxer dog. Together, their daily contribution to dirty laundry alone is probably a couple barrels' worth.

We won't even discuss the number of guitars and amps I have littering the house, but there's another barrel or two. SWMBO's shoes = a barrel, etc.

Who cares if he took the car. He went to a concert or some shit with friends who live where I live and i'm sure they shook hands or hugged or whatever at the end of the night, hell maybe he made out with his GF. Regardless this asshat of a DR who is the type of person who SHOULD understand how quarantine works didn't follow instructions and now the popcorn is burning.

It would be interesting to see what HRH Barack the First did if he was exposed to Ebola and had to hole up for 21 days.

Something tells me he'd say "screw you" and head toward the nearest golf course.  And then the Media would helpfully explain how he wasn't really breaking quarantine....

I started posting this to see which Prophecies of Doom about Mr. Duncan's American Adventure, if any, would come true.  Back about a month ago, many were predicting dozens of new cases popping up in the US.

Those of us who said there would only be a few cases at most, and only in persons directly exposed, were ridiculed as Pollyannas.

Here's an NYT report:
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/24/nyregion/craig-spencer-is-tested-for-ebola-virus-at-bellevue-hospital-in-new-york-city.html?_r=0

He went bowling yesterday via an uber car.  Vinson traveled right before checking in. Either the symptoms hit like a light switch, or these ostensibly educated people such as him, Vinson, Snyderman, et al. are supremely narcissistic.

I'm clinging to a last desperate thread of hope that the symptoms pop like a springtime supercell in tornado alley. The alternative, "I think I'm coming down with the 'bola. Gotta make the most of it before going to the hospital," implies a criminal level of chuckleheadedness.

You clearly haven't been picking up what Baghdad Bob is putting down. Ebola is bullshit! We have sewers here and we don't drink out of them! Nobody needs to worry about Ebola! Bellevue hospital in NYC has this fully under control with western ninja medicine technology!  Best care there ever, way better than western ninja doctors going to Africa, where the backwards flushing toilet effect foils their powers.

Somebody would get all hurt-feelingsy. Honestly, I don't know why we even bother with passports and visas. The only thing they seem to do nowadays is make it harder for Americans to visit Cuba.
