Fluffy also failed to mention that she's likely been bred 3-4 times. And is only about 2 years old. So basically every heat cycle.

The  person who owned her was a real gem, obviously.

Does she softly grab your arm or hand for attention? Trying to pin down her 4 years of abuse and neglect, also how to correct it.

NH_AR_Shooter has a rescue dog that does that.

If you stop petting her she yelps for more. She is in a real need for security and acceptance. Lots of hugs and play helps her. She is not my dog but I spoil her.

She is a real nice dog. She is also very protective when she sees or smell the local scumbags. She must smell the odor of drugs that was smoked. Ears and hairs go up, then the growl. If she sees them long enough. She barks.

I have known her since May when we picked her up in VT. She was found on a porch with six pups weighing in a 35 lbs. It was her second litter. We picked her up after the last pup had found a home. She was then 47 lbs but still boney. She is doing a lot better now. She doesnt hold her urine or poop for days anymore. The big yard and treats fixed that.

Now she is 55 lbs. You can barely see the ribs.

I got a chance to babysit her yesterday. The short orange leash is for walking her close. The blue leash is actually made from a bungee material. If she bolts after a cat it is easy on the arm.

Is it wrong that I want to beat whoever maltreated that dog with a pipe?

edit:  thanks Fluffy and Naamah, you remind me that there are good people around.

Thank you to Fluffy, Naamah and Bernadette's foster family.

Just more proof that dogs needing homes aren't somehow at fault for their homelessness.  Lots of loving, lovable dogs need homes and never get them.  I'm very glad Bernadette is one of the lucky ones.

There is a story making the rounds about a dog rescued after 10 years of neglect. Neighbors called animal.control several times over the years but nothing was ever done. At least it had a good few last years.

There is a video documenting her transformation. I make  me sick that there are people like that. This threat cheers me up.
