Most of the hive will remember Bernadette.  She was rescued from a shelter just in the nick of time.

Today, Naamah took Bernadette to her foster home.  I spoke with her foster and Bernadette is very happy.  She is playful and she is gentle.  I have a video of Bernadette playing and I know that she going to be a fine dog.

She is very ill with heartworms and she is very malnourished.  But she is going to get the best treatment possible.  She is going to one of the very best vets on Monday and she will get everything that she needs.

Here she is eating:

She may also have a skin condition, but I will talk to the vet on Monday.  I will tell him to please give her whatever she needs.

I am going to ask the foster to get her some delicious barbecue chicken to eat.  I want that poor dog to finally have some fun.

First of all, she has to get healthy.  She needs some rest, some good food and some good care.  Then she needs some good training.

The foster sent me a video and Bernadette seems so happy and so enthusiastic that I know she will recover.

I'm glad too.

My younger son saw Bernadette's pic and it got to him. He wants a dog and he doesn't understand how someone could abuse/neglect one like that.

Here is another picture of her.  Despite her illness and weak condition, she still has a certain something about her.  Just look at her face.

Update:

Bernadette enjoyed several delicious roast chicken feasts yesterday.  Her foster, is a wonderful lady named Wendy.

Wendy told me today that Bernadette is a very sweet-natured dog.  She is happy and wants to play.

Bernadette is going to a first class vet this afternoon at 4.  I have already been in contact with the vet's office and I told them to please give this poor dog whatever she needs.

Further update:  The vet says that Bernadette will be ok.  The vet gave her an antibiotic and in ten days she will probably be well enough to be spayed.

Wendy reports that Bernadette is so affectionate that she will stop eating in order to lick Wendy's hand.

Wendy has a two year old boy and Bernadette loves the lad.  She keeps giving him dog kisses and they are great friends.

Wendy and her husband introduced Bernadette to the rest of the pack and everyone got along.

Stand by for pictures.

She really is an absolutely precious pup. Nothing but love and affection and kisses for everyone she's met, in spite of her sad state and ill treatment.

And she will be a real beauty once she gets a little weight on her.

You can just look at her expression and instantly know she is a great dag. I am glad she will now have a worthy home where she will be cared for properly. This dag was very lucky to have caught the attention of Fluffy. And somehow, I think Fluffy will feel very fortunate for having come across Bernadette.

Fluffy also failed to mention that she's likely been bred 3-4 times. And is only about 2 years old. So basically every heat cycle.
