She may also have a skin condition, but I will talk to the vet on Monday. I will tell him to please give her whatever she needs.
I am going to ask the foster to get her some delicious barbecue chicken to eat. I want that poor dog to finally have some fun. |

|
First of all, she has to get healthy. She needs some rest, some good food and some good care. Then she needs some good training. The foster sent me a video and Bernadette seems so happy and so enthusiastic that I know she will recover. |
|
Naamah and Fluffy, thank you for what you have done for Bernadette.

I remember that doggie. It was heartbreaking, I had wished I hadn't clicked on it.
I'm glad she was rescued! |

Good work, OP!
I'm going to rescue a dag when I can afford it. You've convinced me. (Or a cat. ) |
|
Good work.
But I gotta stop clicking on these threads, I get all blurry eyed with "dog empathy".....

Update:
Bernadette enjoyed several delicious roast chicken feasts yesterday. Her foster, is a wonderful lady named Wendy. Wendy told me today that Bernadette is a very sweet-natured dog. She is happy and wants to play. Bernadette is going to a first class vet this afternoon at 4. I have already been in contact with the vet's office and I told them to please give this poor dog whatever she needs. |
|
I met this dog this past Saturday she was very sweet and friendly
|
|
Can't wait to see her recovery process. She has an incredibly sweet face. :)

Further update: The vet says that Bernadette will be ok. The vet gave her an antibiotic and in ten days she will probably be well enough to be spayed. Wendy reports that Bernadette is so affectionate that she will stop eating in order to lick Wendy's hand. Wendy has a two year old boy and Bernadette loves the lad. She keeps giving him dog kisses and they are great friends. Wendy and her husband introduced Bernadette to the rest of the pack and everyone got along. Stand by for pictures. |
|
She really is an absolutely precious pup. Nothing but love and affection and kisses for everyone she's met, in spite of her sad state and ill treatment.
And she will be a real beauty once she gets a little weight on her. |

I missed the first thread and from the first picture I'm glad I did. Those ribs are way too visible. Good work Fluffy!

Thanks on behalf of feral dog and I. You guys are doing some great things for these dogs. The world needs more people like you both

You can just look at her expression and instantly know she is a great dag. I am glad she will now have a worthy home where she will be cared for properly. This dag was very lucky to have caught the attention of Fluffy. And somehow, I think Fluffy will feel very fortunate for having come across Bernadette.

Fluffy, you're awesome. Naamah, Shelley and Wendy did the heavy lifting. I'm just enjoying the ride We couldn't have done it without you, though. |

Fluffy also failed to mention that she's likely been bred 3-4 times. And is only about 2 years old. So basically every heat cycle.
