I suspect that Assad and the Russians are aware that nothing in the air tonight is to be shot at and nothing will shoot back at them.
Assad and the Russians want to see ISIS get whacked. They have no reason to interfere with our attacks. There might be some face saving comments tomorrow and maybe a strongly worded letter sent to the USA for violating Syria's sovereign territory, but that's it. |

I'm still confused as to exactly WHO we are bombing. Is it ISIS? ISIL? (why does zero make a distinction?) Assad? a sliver of ISIL? We funded and supplied the FSA - which is in part ISIS... right? Pretty much this. It's a tangled web and a complete joke. Nothing to do, but sit on the beach with a beer and laugh at the absurdity. The US is bombing the forces that the US has been arming and training for the past year, after Pootie Poot diplomatically pantsed the JEF and his queer red lines. Quoted:
I'm not ruling out anything anymore. Ain't nothing you can do at this point but joke about it and hope that the bombs don't actually end up being exchanged. The fact of the matter is, if the US and russia get to scrapping, I'm probably going to die. I don't have the financial means to build a doomsday ICBM proof bunker. Any amount of prepping I can do for this occasion will be nothing more than a comfort to circle jerk over while I eat a MIRV. Take your pick of choice quotes: Lighten up, Francis. Is you an old man or is you an old woman? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? |

View Quote I want what you're having, because I'm not drunk enough to understand your point. I don't think a nuclear exchange is remotely likely at this point, but if it DID happen. I'm dead. Unless our missile shield is better than I expect it to be. I'm an hour away from D.C., and less than an hour from Quantico, A.P. Hill, and dahlgren. Don't forget good ol Andrew's air force base, and Langley too. The bad part of living in Virginia is that a majority of the damn state is a primary, secondary, or tertiary nuclear target. If the bombs get in, there wouldn't be anywhere to run or hide, even with advanced warning. All the bomb shelters I know of are a fair distance aways, and They probably haven't been maintained since the end of the cold war. |
