Saturday night we're sitting at a bar with my sister in law and a couple she has been friends with for years. Sister in law is being questioned on her lack of a boyfriend/love interest. SIL: "Well, the other day I was flirting with a cute cop at my school. I thought we were hitting it off pretty well, then he moved his hands and I saw the ring. I don't want to be that type of woman that hits on married guys, and I really didn't know he was married. He was really playing into the flirting as well. Now I feel bad." Me: "You should feel bad. You love dogs too much to date a cop, married or not." Oh, and she wants a BFL for her car. I thought about doing a "WTB: One neckbeard" type post in the EE, or using GD as a dating site for her. The results could be.... interdasting. Her wants: Decent guy that will treat her right (as measured in behavior and attitude, not spending). Good job / stable incoming / no basement dwelling unemployed manchild. Does not need to own a collection of guns yet, but had better not object to that as time and money allow. Must love big dogs, as she is getting a Great Dane when she can find/afford/foster one and she'll take the dog over most men any day of the week. Some level of higher education or the ability to fake it, must at least be able to come up with interesting conversation fodder. Liberals, progressives, communists, and other left wing nut cases need not apply. Our wants for her: 1. Steady income / solid job 2. Prior military experience, preferably Army or Marine, combat veterans highly preferred 3. Honorable discharge or still in .mil 4. Pro gun. 5. Anti liberal 6. Mentally stable 7. Not in law enforcement 8. Nice guy (treats her well, respectful, etc.) |

Communism works great on a very small scale. Much more than a family-sized unit, and it breaks down completely. Communism works great if you are a party member and politburo member. The entire concept of communism is brilliant, so long as you can put yourself and those you care about into the elite ruling class, while still convincing the peasants that it is in their best interest to cast themselves free of the shackles of freedom and embrace the police state. |

Communism works great on a very small scale. Much more than a family-sized unit, and it breaks down completely. The problem comes from the cycling of generations and people having to learn the same mistakes over and over. Some people just can't learn from history and have to fuck up on their own. Some people are just willfully ignorant. Some people are suckers for a good sales pitch. History may not repeat, but it sure as shit rhymes. |

Communism works great on a very small scale. Much more than a family-sized unit, and it breaks down completely. As long as there are young idealists out there, the idea will never die. Communism works if everyone truly gives a fuck about everyone else in the commune. This is seen in families, and why it works well at that level. Young idealists have lots of fucks to give. They give them away freely to whomever or whatever tugs on their heartstrings. They think if they give enough fucks, everyone else will give a fuck too. But fucks are finite in quantity. Some people just run out of fucks to give, and other don't give a fuck and are more than willing to take advantage of those that do. And that is why communism will never succeed, but also will never die. |

Nice guy (treats her well, respectful, etc.) I don't think she would be interested in conversation related to my higher education. Also, the media told me veterans are dangerous. We've been over this before. You're already married, that excludes you from consideration (that, and your pregnant wife would likely hunt you down and kill you). I'm jussayin, not all higher education is a catalyst for riveting conversation. |
