Looking for a portable boombox type thingy to plug my phone/MP3 player into. A box with speakers and plugs. Needs to be decently loud for use outdoors, doesn't need to be super small, under $200, no CD just AUX/Bluetooth.

Suggestions, experiences, reviews?

A boombox, you have to buy parachute pants and learn to breakdance too don't you?

I came to post this. I work at Lowes and we have one of these we jam all the time. I finally bought one and I use this motherfucker everywhere. It's a little heavy to carry around but seriously, this is the best radio you will ever own.

I have a sharkk, an onx angle, and some other brand of small Bluetooth speaker. All were under 40 bux.

The sharkk is the most impressive. I think I got the old model, that's why it was cheap.

I just went through the same thing. Bought, and returned 3 different store bought jobbies. (holy chinese junk batman)

Ended up with a Makita.

The things I don't like are; power supply is pretty crappy (it will run on some makita batteries) and when connected to your phone/mp3 it only has about half volume of the tuner.

Other than that it's woking pretty well. Really just using it at work and in the garage, so it doesn't have to be a Blaupunkt, I guess.

Go to Costcos online store. I bought one at the walk in store about 2 weeks ago.

Honestly I haven't even opened it up from package yet ( yea I know lame )

My buddy had one on our Canadian fishing trip. It would automatically play via blue tooth the songs he had saved on his iphone. I never knew such a thing existed ( kinda low tech here ) it was just $40 or so. waterproof. Small - maybe the size of 2 boxes 12ga shells / slightly smaller. Had a suction cup for mounting.  His sounded awesome.

I am sure you could find online search

I have the dewalt job site radio. Held up pretty good over the last 4 years or so. I can play my phone through it, charge batteries, and plug up 3 saws, air compressor, whatever to the side while I'm working.

I have one of these - love it. I have no idea what the battery life is because I've never fully drained it. I've used it for 5-6 hours a day on a 5 day camping trip and it was still g2g. Speaks bluetooth with decent range, sounds surprisingly good for its size, charges over micro USB.

Also waterproof.

If you also have cordless power tools, you may want to consider one of their (Dewalt/Milwaukee/Bosch) radio chargers? Advantage being that you can use the batts from your tools. Also nice to have in the workshop or when working on projects.

He should've put the volt meter and power switch on the side instead of smack in the middle of the stencil. Or just repainted the can first.

Thank you, everyone.

Some good suggestions. These days with so many electronics on the market it can be hard to separate the good from the junk.
