Stayed home today because there was no jobs to work on........I can't sit around for 10 hours and do nothing and not feel guilty. I'd rather stay home. So I did.......

I was able to salvage 5 out of 7 pin pads that we can reuse rather than order new ones they run about ~$400 each so that saves us some money.

Edit: Nobody asked me to do this, I could have easily thrown them away and ordered new ones but I just don't like wasting money even if it's not my own.

What kind of pin pads? If they have keys injected, I hope you're nuking those keys before disposal.

We sell a LOT of payment devices. (among other things)

Figured out why a Glock slide locked back after every shot.  He said it was a feeding problem.  It wasn't.  The slide stop kept engaging.

It was the new secretary's birthday. The office manager, a fantastic baker, made this cake with bananas, peanut butter, and bacon.  Made coming to work well worth it.

Teacher put her new $1700 company macbook pro in a bag with a waterbottle.
Top came off and flooded the bag. Laptop was on.

I disassembled the main parts and put it in my hot car for 5 hours to dry it out.

Fired up and it worked fine.

I entered 137 time off requests into our payroll system (much more involved than it sounds), helped someone get their PC online, provided departmental labor hours for 2 days, and other stuff I don't clearly recall.

It was a little bit hectic.

I'd like to imagine these badass scenarios where the warfighter's job of killing assholes was made a little easier due the better training he'll receive as a result of what I did today, but in reality I just fixed some software bugs and unfucked some code.  Not all that exciting.

I did my paperwork and attended a conference call.

That's two things, but I did hang up on the call because it was getting really boring and the others on the call were making it a real clusterfuck.

Our IT Department took our email system and servers down until Monday.

That's always a good idea before the end of the quarter, right?  FML

Came in on my day off to supervise a crew and do bbilling for the last week's change orders.

Then went and got coffee and doughnuts for everyone, I'll be off by noon and probably go play in a couple poker tournaments.
