People vote like idiots here. We finally get a republican Governor for the first time in 20 year or more, but the same counties who went republican for the Governor and President, will vote in a democratic sheriff. It blows my mind how many times I've asked some goofball around here if they are a republican or democrat and they say democrat and I asked them if they like Obama and they go into a tirade about him and how they didn't vote for him, but they are a democrat because thats what their dad was.
Old people around here are fond of saying "there ought to be a law against that" when they see something they don't like, and judging by all the stupid laws, they must have gotten their way at some point in time. |

All of you who seem to have no problem with the pistol permit thing and are telling everyone you can avoid it by getting your CCW are missing the point here. I shouldn't have to get a sign off from the Sheriff to purchase any handgun at all. They do the same damn checks that the gun dealer does when you purchase the gun. It's a dumb law and needs to be repealed.
Yeah, yeah I know it's an old Jim Crow era law that has now been used as a money generation law. All the more reason to get this shit repealed. |

They're everywhere. What I loved when we were house hunting on Google before our PCS date was that when you look on Google Maps (and this holds true -- at least for around here) at neighborhoods, they're all cutouts of big wooded areas. Every neighborhood is like a collection of cul-de-sacs tied together, that exit out to one main road. It cuts out a lot of through traffic and keeps them close nit. The area is definitely diverse. I have a great black family that lives next door, I couldn't be happier. They're the only ones who came and introduced themselves. The kids all behave and help out around the house. It's just the Hispanic home across the street that irks me a little. There's 2-3 families living there, they're always loud, and they have a fucking bird that chirps day and night as they leave the windows open. But overall, everyone is super nice out here. I've enjoyed it (just hate my daily commute). When I was in Oklahoma, I was expecting Southern Hospitality and good down home cooking. The people were rude, and even the McDonald's set a new low. North Carolina has been good to me so far. I'm planning on making this a very successful and pleasant assignment. It may be our last if we extend this special duty assignment for 2 more years until she hits her 20. |

Quoted: I just recently moved from DC area(VA) back to Charlotte NC....Last time I was here I guess I didnt pay much attention to how much of a fucking nanny state this is. It dawned on me last night when I was at a club for a friends birthday party, we order several thousand dollars worth of drink, and guesss what...Cant pour your own drinks....LOL, completely forgot about that one. NC's Nanny Bullshit -Cant pour your own drinks...which means you are at the mercy of the worlds most retarded people...club/nightlife workers. -Cant get red meat cooked under medium...Thats right...My favorite steak house(Chima) cant serve me my favorite dish the way I want it, and the way it was meant to be enjoyed, medium rare. -Need a pistol purchasing permit(if you do not have a resident CCW) Just fucking horrendous law, I mean WTF, this is supposed to be Da Souf'? Not to mention the gun prices in my local area a fucking ridiculous too, one good thing, seems like everyone stocks my favorite CZ pistols...Too bad all this has me thinking, maybe I will just go become an SC resident soon, Fuck the BS here in NC. View Quote That's not true anymore. Was repealed for stupidity several years ago. |

Every town In South Carolina looks like an episode of the walking dead is being filmed there and rebar randomly grows out of the random shitty unkempt roads. At least North Carolina recovered from Sherman's march through .. I went into Cheraw a few weeks ago and everyone was aimlessly walking around looking lost and high. The highest concentration of population was at the Tigermart where people were all buying maddog 20/20 to drink with a side of funions. Every other house had moss growing on it and the windows boarded up. http://media.giphy.com/media/5ZosQz0wbTcCA/giphy.gif Y'all are judging SC based on Cheraw? Do you want me to judge NC based on some of the inbred E. NC towns I have visited? I have lived in both NC and SC. SC is just better IMO, in every single way. NC is pretty nice though overall. |

You haters can just keep on going down the road; we don't like you, neither.
It IS going to take a bit to unfuck over 100 years of Democratic rule. Our lawmakers are working very hard on that score. There is nowhere else I'd rather be than the western NC Piedmont. |

We already established parts of Charleston are nice, but once your outside the city limits.. Holy shit Also I hate dealing with South Carolina cops.. Shady as hell and always want to write revenue tickets to North Carolina folks passing through . Only ticket I've ever gotten was I. South Carolina doing the same speed as everyone else ...white mustang pulled my black mustang over..guy was a huge fag and didn't even know the law |
