A LR lane with a provided precision rifle would make a nice addition, perhaps a "bonus" shot to subtract/add time depending on hit/miss. There are no bonuses, only penalties. What crow said bears repeating. |

A CW West does somewhat demand some long range targets. That might be the difference maker. Stretch it out to 500-600 meters. That would be interesting as hell. I'm with this, that's still doable with a regular carbine I had hits out to 600M with an M4 ACOG in Afghanistan. I wouldn't go any further than 600M however. |

I don't know how far in advance the other CW competitions open the sign up, but I'm thinking we shouldn't open this one up until at least after the new year. Mainly because so much can happen between then and now, I don't want to be adding and removing people as commitments come and go over the course of 5 months. Any advice on this front would be appreciated. I'd also like to know how to approach liability issues. Do participants generally just sign some sore of waiver? Also, when I get out to recon the land in the coming weeks, I wouldn't swear to it, but I'm pretty sure there's a rather large wash running through it. That could make for some punishing obstacle material. If possible let me know when you are going up. I would like to take a look around to help figure what type of obstacles or other items we may need out there. IM sent. |

If you want to spend $600 for mags to try to game it, you can. If you really want to just spend money, you can also bring a belt-fed (two belts of standard size) or grenade launcher (notional kill radius with training rounds, based on what the weapon would actually be capable of with real rounds - you get two units' worth of whatever the standard carrying container for the rounds is). But the easiest and fastest thing to do is to have an in-spec CWAR and just shoot the targets. You will regret it if you bring a stupid gun, a jam-prone magazine, or anything like that. Which is part of the point of the event - to show you that bringing an AK to a rifle fight is retarded. View Quote I did east with 11 rounds on my ugly rifle with a Harbor Freight scope off my .22 |

To clarify, I voted April, but either will work. March just takes a weekend away from snowboarding...

When I showed her all the pics from the last CW thread, she said "that looks like a lot of fun. We should go". Then I told her it was about 1500 miles away and she said "that's too far." Last night I was texting with her and told her "Guess what? They're doing a Cola Warrior right here in AZ, about 4 hours away" She said "let's go" so I have to get the truck ready. It needs a fuel pump and an intake manifold gasket set. Should be good to go by then. ETA: Thanks for the reply. |

So what sponsors are there going to be for this? Also any idea on when the registration will begin or are you guys wanting to make sure you have approved obstacles and whatever else needed done first? I am just curious. Also I hope its not during my spring turkey hunt.... I would be sad.
