HiPoint has a contest where they're giving the HiPoint carbine pictured below:

To enter is a two part process:

1) Click this link to goto the rules page.
2) the registration page will then open, and fill out your personal data.

Limit of one entry per contest. Winner will be chosen at Monday September 29, 2014 at 11:00 PM EDT.

Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with either HiPoint Firearms or MKS Supply. I made this posting so as to alert members of this site of a contest so that more members here have a chance to win.  If in the unlikely event that I do win this, I will contact appropriate staff and arrange for a karma posting to raffle it off in support of Jeep297 as others have done with items that they have.

If they offered more than a 10 round magazine I'd sign up for the contest.

I don't care if it was a single shot as long as it works. A free gun is a good thing.

Wow, that thing looks more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

ditto on the 10-rounder, though

They are an extremely reliable carbine. I keep mine as my trunk carbine Also full, no questions asked, lifetime warranty.

Those are surprisingly accurate given the cost. I had to repair a couple of them and test fire them.  They shot very well. I can't comment on their reliability. The ones I repaired were missing pieces due to their anticipated demographic disassembling them and refusing to spend ten bucks to replace whatever parts they lost or broke.

I knew some small town cops that used them as patrol guns since they didn't make much money.

Free is good........even the U2 record I downloaded due to a members rant. It ain't great but it is listenable. Just like a FREE HiPoint Good serviceable gun. No M1 Carbine, or 9mm AR15, but a decent gun.

My son in law has one. It is as UGLY as homebuilt sin. Runs great. HIGH CAP CLIPZ

ETA: I especially like the recoil reducer stock...

What about if you entered and won, would you raffle it off to help Jeep297?

The person that mounted the scope needs to be fired. The front ring is above the rail.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw that.  I thought maybe it was a 40MOA mount in the other direction!

Fun with iron sights, but a scope on a plastic rail isn't gonna hold zero for shit.

The ProMags I've tried with mine have proven to be junk.
Lots of feeding malfunctions.

Every "mag" ProMag makes is fucking junk.

Signed up... A few years back a guy on one of my local forums bought one off gunbroker that wound up in the bottom of a burn barrel.

Hi-Point replaced it shipping included....They said as long as the serial number is readable it will be repaired or replaced

I'm tempted to get a .40S&W carbine and do the 10mm conversion just to see how well it works out.

There has been some converted to 10mm?

The iron sites that come with it are very good and it is a carbine. Not really a need for any optics imo

It has been my impression for some time that we have many folks who never learned with irons or just couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with them.

Some of us are not in our 60's yet and have decent eye sight still My main AR (Colt LE6920) does not have optics on it either.

I'm always down to try to win a free gun. Hi Point carbines are pretty decent from what I've read, it'd fit good in the back of my truck if I won.
