They don't know if he stashed it before or after the shooting. They don't know if it was him or an accomplice that put it there. They don't know if it was a cache or something he dropped because it was too heavy to carry two long guns. It could have been there a week, a month, or a day. They have no clue. Unless your hypothesis is that they know where he is and enjoy racking up overtime while people are not allowed to travel and schools are locked down. All they have is a gun, a ditched vehicle, and a suspect tied to both. For all we know the bank robbers killed the kid on the way to the range, took his guns, and hid his body somewhere. Maybe the kid is one of the bank robbers. Maybe he's just a nutjob that happens to be able to evade law enforcement that isn't prepared or trained to deal with situations like the one he has created. Nobody knows. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

It might not even be his gun. The article doesn't say they traced it to him, only they that found the rifle and ammunition. It most likely is his and he put it there, but it doesn't really say with certainty. Could be some random prepper who stashed a gun. |

I don't get why people are surprised that LEOS acting outside the scope of their duties are bad at it? The entire point of the 2nd amendment is so a community can be well armed, well trained, and band together for stuff just like this. People shirk that right and the responsibilities that come with it and are then surprised when the government puts the entire community under house arrest.
