Quoted:
The Spirit of the LORD is on Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to bring the good news to the poor (or poor in spirit; poor in knowledge). He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, and to proclaim liberty to the captives, and freedom to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of the LORD's vengeance; to comfort all who mourn, to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair (Lit a dim spirit). And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the LORD, to glorify Him. The Prophet ISAIAH Isaiah 61: 1-3 Messiah's Jubilee: The Eternal Christ Proclaims Liberty View Quote This one right here. God gave Man many commands. People forget that the first order of God to Adam was to name things because, although God created them He didn't know the names until Adam gave them names.
Genesis 2:19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every bird of the air, and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them. And whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. 2:20 And Adam gave names to all the cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field, But for Adam there was no help for him. I live this lesson daily. EVERYTHING has a name. There can be no higher order than to call things by their name. |

If serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
I have one story I absolutely love and lets me know why my God is awesome. Has anyone ever read Genesis. Read it again and think about the Jesus being born before the creation of the Earth. Then remember that God had Revelation finished before he even wrote Genesis. He knows all future, present, and past.

Ezekiel 32:4-8
“With a great throng of people I will cast my net over you, and they will haul you up in my net. I will throw you on the land and hurl you on the open field. I will let all the birds of the sky settle on you and all the animals of the wild gorge themselves on you. I will spread your flesh on the mountains and fill the valleys with your remains. I will drench the land with your flowing blood all the way to the mountains, and the ravines will be filled with your flesh. When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light. All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you; I will bring darkness over your land," Don't know why, but I've always thought those verses were cool as shit. |

I'm not sure about best, but I've always found this one interesting especially from a cosmological perspective:

I'll disagree with that. We have the right, given by God Himself, to defend ourselves from the evils of this world. We are supposed to do so in love and with compassion, but it is still my responsibility to protect my family and, if necessary, my nation. Compare and contrast that the 2nd time the Lord sent out the disciples (passage in Mark, IIRC) he asked them if they had swords, and determined that 2 swords amongst the 12 of them was enough. My take on this is that we are allowed to defend ourselves (unless being persecuted for the sake of the Gospel) but should not obsess over defending ourselves. |
