Because me and our puppy Riley fell down the stairs. She bolted in front of me that thinking we were going bye-bye, when I was just taking a box downstairs. I stepped down and we tangled.

I'm OK, she has 2.fractures in her left her hind leg. Waiting for her to come out. They are putting a splint on her.

UPDATE 9/2-Well after having xrays done yesterday to see if the setting of the leg has remained, it has not. She is now at the vet getting ready for surgery tor 2 bone plates.

I will pick her up tomorrow morning.

I miss my dog.

I'm sore, but nothing else.

I would have rather I broke my leg. I can understand not being able to move, run or jump.

She can't.

I always feel awful when I punt a dog. They love to get right in the vector your foot is about to take after your brain has committed to take a step.

Yep, that is exactly what happened. I was putting my foot down, which happened to be in the same place that she was. BAM.

We go tumbling.

The good thing is she is a puppy, young and will heal fast.

She does have a new blanket in her crate...the best one mankind has ever made. The USGI poncho liner, aka The Woobie.

Perhaps you can get a child's pull along wagon for her. That way you can take her out for walks

Get some Ace (acepromazine) and keep her doped up while it heals. I went through the same thing with my dag and it was miserable. Also, look into physical therapy. She might need it to keep her from favoring one leg and developing hip problems.

We just got a new Boston Terrier pup and how I forgot about that sensation. Poor pup has been punted several times by accident.

Hopefully I don't fall on her cause it would be messy.

So true. My two boxers are always circling my legs. They make it hard to not trip over them.

OP, stock up on treats for your pup. You'll both need them when your pups comes home.

Yea....that is going to sting a bit.

What sucks is I about to pull the trigger on a couple of very nice S&W revolvers, but I waved that off after this.

Oh well, as long as my girl heals up and goes back to being a ball of fun, I can let a few of my grail list guns slip by.

Poor baby. I tend to be overly cautious when it comes to recovery. My dog had an ACL repair and I probably doubled many of the recommended times before doing certain activities.

I understand that I can't do this or that, she's just a puppy that wants to play.

Doggone it Dog1, this stuff brings a tear to my eye.
