Yes, the people who thought that there were gods and devils in the sky, the earth was flat, that it had foundations, that it was a circle, that there were waters above heaven, that the stars were small objects that could fall to earth, etc were capable of useful and accurate prediction.

Most folks idea of the AC comes from mixing Nostradamus with the book of revelation. The AC is actually In the book of John being described as being not only many people but typically anyone who does not believe Jesus is the Christ. Nostradamus followers coined much of today's ideas of the subject.
