Meh, it's a little over the top, even for Breitbart. It seems to be taken out of context, from what I remember. IIRC, Glenn was making a point about charity and a point about visiting the border. Here is the quoted remark, written in a previous BB article, that they reference. Beck half-jokingly said his co-host Stu was not man enough for skipping out on the trip. Stu said since he has a child under two years of age, doctors recommended that he not travel to the border because of the risk of contagious diseases.
Beck also suggested those who did not go to the border with him like Cruz were also "pusses." "You know who is not a giant puss?" Beck asked, before answering, "Ted Cruz." He said Cruz called him on Thursday afternoon and said, "I'm coming." Not quite the same, is it? Sounds like he was ribbing a coworker to me... And just because he was talking to CNN about HLN, that has zero to do with anything. Any of you would take it if you were in his position, plus there is no proof of him changing any views because he wants to be charitable to illegals. Better him, a private charity, give money than our government, which was doing an absolutely horrible job, at the time. But hey, let's not let that get in the way of the GB hate. It flourishes in GD. It wouldn't be the first time CNN purposefully edited something to drive a narrative. Ask George Zimmerman. |

<snip> It wouldn't be the first time CNN purposefully edited something to drive a narrative. Ask George Zimmerman. View Quote Go to CNN Money and search for "Glenn". There are a number of videos of Glenn being intereviewed on a variety of topics....making him out to be the mid-stream, level headed commentator just right for CNN. My instinct is that CNN isn't making this shit up. Glenn Beck would sell you into the concentration camp if he made a buck off of it. He's a court jester. |

Quoted: "Glenn Beck like you have never heard him! You won't believe what he has to say about conservatives!" For those who are doubting, you do realize that CNN is also running this story. Right? Glenn Beck Sought Out CNN Slot Beck is a disgusting shill and media whore with nothing on his mind but making a buck. He has never been about any convictions and those who listened to him (myself included for a very short time) were all duped. He's just an entertainer, running his mealy little mouth, saying whatever gets him paid the most. View Quote Huge layoffs at CNN. They cant make the commercial sales to stay afloat. Does not pay to be so liberal that nobody watches you anymore except for anti American non buying shitbag commies. Advertising on such a channel is a waist of good money |
|
Quoted: In the last interview I saw featuring Beck (on CNN, IRC), he said that he "admired" Bernie Sanders. Fuck that emotional twatface. View Quote He was commenting on Sanders had more Pro American conviction then the Obama lefties. Sanders had been bashing the ObamaPhiles. |

Quoted: I call bullshit. Beck has no need for CNN...he already has his own network. View Quote Buying out one of CNN cable network would have have allowed the Blaze network a foot in the door. CNN being so stupid while hemorrhaging money turning him down they were they are were forced into layoffs. Expect another channel to go to Al Jazeera |

This is pretty simple to me. Beck is a business man and an entertainer. His act, or his schtick, is to play the role of the sensitive conservative....the "common sense" counter-poise to Obama and the evil republicans as well. He's an actor. More importantly he has his eye on leaping from being worth millions with the Blaze to being worth Billions by going mainstream. It's about money and very little else. I'm sure his business plan from the start was to build an audience on the blaze so he could demonstrate to the mainstream networks his worth and then get a piece of that. A simple 5 year plan. He's now trying to execute the transition phase of his plan. What will be interesting to observe, if he's successful, is what the next 5 years look like. Where will Glenny go next? MSNBC? Maybe, if it makes him the type of money that he's looking for. I'm thinking he'll be the guy saying "Arbeiter" or "Duschen" at the work camp gate if he makes good money doing it. |

I always got the douched chills when watching GB. Never trusted him.

Wasn't that long ago, there were tons of members here that would have blown the guy.

From the time he first hit the national scene, he has fancied himself a principled defender of individual rights and displayed a tendency to be over-emotional and prone to exaggeration, selective observation, conspiracy-theory propagation, and sense of persecution. He has always came across to me as a genuinely nice guy who just really talked out of his ass a lot out of a sincere sense of personal righteousness mixed with lack of perspective. Nothing has changed in that regard. |

Quoted: Quoted: Wow, if his motives for that stunt were to move to the middle and alienate Conservatives (kissing the left's ass) to gain a show on CNN of all places. That's Chicago-style politics low. I am done with him. Let's not be too quick to accept this story. Since when is CNN's word gospel? Do we trust CNN's reporting on the Middle East? On politics? Do we trust CNN about what happened in Ferguson, or do they have an agenda? |

I have liked Beck in the past, I've defended him even, but I don't watch him consistently enough to know what's with him all the time. (I have read some of his books, which seemed okay to me, for what it's worth.) If he's just a money-grubbing opportunist who will go wherever the wind blows, the heck with him. I'll not defend him no matter what. But it's true that we shouldn't trust CNN right off the bat. Let's give this some time. |

I just read the OP, I'm sure somebody's covered by now that we're at page 4.
Beck is responsible for the "everybody's a progressive" rhetoric floating around now. It is so retarded I don't know who I have more contempt for, Beck for promulgating it, or the idiots who parrot it trying to sound informed. Beck wants to "turn" people on both R's and D's under "anti-progressivism" because he is looking to build a brand. It is a marketing campaign. It is not history. It is in fact a species of revisionism, just as bad as the left-wing revision of history. Why just as bad? Because it obscures who have been the prime movers in our decline over the past several decades. It isn't Bull Moose era "progressives" responsible for it. It is our counter cultural marxists. That's what they are, even if they call themselves "progressives" They are marxists. For a man with such self professed "courage", Beck certainly seems scared to utter the true name of the political philosophy eroding American institutions. (Marxism) |

^ I don't watch or listen to Beck so I don't know much about him other than he seems to cry a lot.
But if he doesn't call a spade a spade (i.e., that they are fucking communists) then he is a coward IMHO. |

Didn't Glenn Beck say he did crack and at one point turned fag tricks to support his habit?
No, really. I remember that years ago and how he got "saved" and usually it was the liberals quick to remind people of his shaky past. |

Not a fan of Beck. I can barely listen to his radio show with all the comedy he has going on. That said, I'm not sure I will take Brian Selter's word as gospel either. Stuffed animals for the illegal kids was ridiculous and made me go

I watched him occasionally in the beginning out of curiosity and found him interesting but his poor research really turned me off. When he did a show on the lost tribe of Israel he proved such a fraud I refused to watch him again. That was a long time ago.
This guy is an unstable nut job. |

Time for me to put in my .02
In the past I've been a big GB supporter and it's a little difficult to say that I'm really not one anymore. I expect on his current path for him to eventually become some kind of mega church/news organization/department store untill he's caught in a motel with a half dozen 16 year-old cheerleaders and a pound of cocaine after which he will proclaim that he has been " Saved " again and keep building his empire. FWIW I don't listen to any of the talk radio anymore smucks anymore. Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity or especially the chief smucko Levin. My blood pressure is much better. |
