View Quote Surf the EE, find a stripped Colt upper for inexpensive After that, it won't matter who the lower is...the upper's the important part. The lower could be two pieces of plywood and a mouse trap spring. You can buy "matched" upper/lower sets but unless they're hewn from the same hunk of metal, they're not "matched" no matter how fierce the marketing is IMO. Hand or machine fitted, sure...but to me, not "matched". Besides, if this is gonna be a gun you use, why would you want some pristine safe queen Take that blaster out and beat the crap out of it |

I figure if I ever transition from being a jailer to a cop the colt is most likely to be on the authorized rifle list. Grab a gun down the street in coppell has them for around $950 out the door. |

Maybe the colt should just show up by magic and she won't notice since it looks similar to the DCM. I doubt that though, sh'e pretty damned smart. |

Take it apart, put a piece of it in the garage. Leave it there. Repeat until the whole rifle is assembled and in the garage for a while, then one day bring it in. IF she asks WTF, tell her it's been in the garage the last few weeks, and why is she complaining now? Odds are though, if you time it right and pull it off, she'll never know or question it. Of course it helps if she's half blind |

Mine never really payed attention until I was doing the math on how much of an insurance rider I needed to cover my collection. Still, I think she knows that it is my one true passion, so she doesn't give me too much grief.
