Didn't Adam or Jamie mention going back to their roots for the show on a Reddit AMA after someone requested more time seeing the actual construction take place? I seem to remember that so I wonder if this was planned before this season hit or if this is a result of lower ratings or possibly the other 3 asking for more money.
Either way, it sucks to see them go and not just Kari. I'm assuming next season will be it for the show unless they make it cost effective for the ratings they're getting? It doesn't help that Discovery kept moving the show around which obviously happens when you're trying to get more ratings but they only made things worse by throwing it on Thursday at primetime after having it on the weekend last year and then screwing up the re-runs at 11PM a lot of the time or just showing really old episodes all night. |

It was a better show when it had a low budget. It was fun to watch them fabricate the testing rigs. Later in the series they would just fly in to NASA or some other national testing lab and test the myth.
The rocket sled hitting the car was bad ass though. |

Meh. Kari was hot, but I watched Mythbusters for the science-related entertainment, and Adam and Jamie provided that better than the trio. All things being equal, I'd rather watch something with a hot chick than not, but not at the cost of the actual content. Plenty of other options to look at women if that's what I want to do.

The show was great until they blew up the cement mixer. Then it turned into "lets see what we can blow up". I will try to watch again if they go back to their roots: more science, less explosions and Hollywood stunts.
