Brad Pitt can't pull off the character of Achilles, the killer of men, but he was good in Meet Joe Black. Who pulled it off better? I think Eric Bana (who played Hector) would have played the part better. Pitt standing on a beach like a pretty boy screaming "Immortality" doesn't capture the spirit of Achilles for me. He just didn't play it as a killer whose sense of honor and martial valor were paramount, who was a juggernaut of death crushing all in his path (in the interval between the death of Patroclus and that of Hector, the only deaths depicted in the Iliad are those inflicted by Achilles i.e. Achilles personifies death). |

Only because it had Diane Kruger, which was not on poll selection http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y9D-ZQy-Jho/TsLFLdlOGuI/AAAAAAAAIOI/qfKo7HGNT5A/s1600/Troy.jpg View Quote pffff you can't hit that. You'd be like one of those automatic soap dispensers. |

I've liked most of his movies that I've seen. That being said I don't think troy is his best.
I gotta go with Fight Club, |

[#8]
Not even close....he was much better in Se7en, Fight Club, and Burn After Reading.

Fight Club, A River Runs Through It, Legends of the Fall. In no particular order. View Quote I think Brad Pitt is a pretty decent actor in general though. And I did enjoy Troy a lot. Diane Kruger is a smokeshow in that and the fight scenes (esp Achilles and Hector) were good, I would even venture to say that the Achilles/Hector fight was as enjoyable as some of the fight scenes in Gladiator which is another favorite (non Pitt). |

It's up there.. But I'm also partial to Fight Club, the Oceans series, and Legends of the Fall.

God, I hope not. Troy was awful. If they had dumbed down/altered The Iliad any more, they would have had to name it "Ow, my balls!"
|

[#15]
I would say Snatch, Killing Them Softly or of course Kalifornia.
|
|
[#16]
No, it was good but his best work was "Snatch", then "devil's own", then "Meet Joe Black".
In that order. |

I really enjoyed Troy, and Pitt did a great job. But he's been in several better movies.
If I had to pick a movie I thought was his best, I'd have to say Legends of The Fall. |
|
[#19]
My vote would be for Snatch. "Why would I want a caravan with no fucking wheels!?"

I'd tell you what I think his best movie is, but I'm not supposed to talk about it.

View Quote Forgot about this and 12 Monkeys. Both are awesome. Was Burn After Reading really that good? |

Tie between:
Fight Club Seven Legends of the Fall He had alot of movies better than Troy. I would also put Mr. and Mrs. Smith, 12 Monkeys, A river Runs Through It, and Meet Joe Black well beyond it. He is very good and makes some excellent movies. |
|
[#27]
I honestly think he's a great actor,
Anything that involves a little crazy in the role, and he excels |

[#30]
He didnt really display the fits of anger and rage that Achilles was known for, or the petulance when Agammemon took Briseis away......otherwise it was pretty good
