I hate to say it, but I would venture to bet that men would be far worse than women OP.

IMHO it's always been rampant, it's not some modern culture thing. I think our folks and grandparents just kept a tighter lid on it, that the only thing that's really changed is the discretion, and there's more people in the country now so it seems like it's more common.
