what did you get? I pick up the 7-8 dollar LEDs from Home Depot and have converted my whole place to LEDs, the output is the the same as conventional bulbs,,plus the bonus of no heat output and hope it helps reduce electric bill.

I've been buying the CREE's for $48 for the six pack.

Outside I run the 5000K and inside 2700K and love the looks of both in their locations.

Is it worth it to switch to LED bulbs in a rent house to save on electricity? We plan on living there for about 2 years.

Sure, save the bulbs you replace and then put them back in and take the new LEDs with you when you move.

How did you pay $100 for three light bulbs that cost ~$18 a piece and have free shipping?

It was 4 total.  The title is wrong.  I hate the 3 in my office.

Prices vary by store location and you live in California.    FWIW, they're $17.97 for me too.

I've been perfectly happy with the Feit bulbs from Costco.

$40 for a 4-pack

They're 2700K, but maybe you'd prefer that.

No, I was hoping for a more daylight color.  These ones I bought are supposed to be "bright white" but they are rather yellow.

If you want daylight color, you want something in the 5000K to 5500K range.

If anything, they'd be more expensive here.

I have a 75W equivalent LED in the lamp I read by.  Just about everything else in the house has been replaced by Cree 60W equivalent bulbs or 60W equivalent Walmart bulbs which I picked up for around $4.00 each.

I have a stockpile of regular bulbs but the damn things were burning out in weeks.  Some of my fixtures in ceilings were too hard to change so I figured LEDs would save me from falling down stairwells and breaking my neck trying to change bulbs all the time.

I haven't seen any difference in my electric usage.

I am also big fan of CREE LED lights from the Home Depot. I have yet to convert entire house only areas hard to reach when bulb burns out.

Bright white isn't the same thing as daylight. I like around 5500k best personally.

I am doing my whole 30 x 45 building with led cree daylights. Looks better and will light up better in the winter than fluorescent tubes.

My whole house is 5000k LED, I think it makes it easier to see

I have replaced my recessed lighting with these.   I tried one of the led bulbs in the old recessed light housing and hated it too.

I won't be buying any more Cree POS light bulbs.  75 watt $18.00 LED light bulb I posted about a few weeks ago burned out already.  I probably had it a total of two months but no longer have the receipt.  I bought LED bulbs thinking they would last for years.  No such luck with this one.  I'll stick to buying Walmart LEDs at $4.00 before wasting any more money on Cree crap.

My "fancy pig tail" lightbulbs said the same thing and I am noticing a yellow tint in the light. It of course can seen in a lot of pics, which pisses me off to no end.

80% of the bulbs in my house are LEDs now. I should have over 90% by the end of the year.

Same here - I've converted my whole house to the Cree and TCP LEDs except for the dining room chandelier and a couple flood lights outside.  I have a mixture of the 40/60/75/100 watt equivalent bulbs as well as 16 TCP LED candelabra bulbs.  Probably have $500+ invested into them.  Most of the bulbs replaced were CFLs, but the instant on and the ability to turn them on/off repeatedly without affecting life sold me (bathrooms/closets).
