So since the retarded monkeys running the show have decided to let the Ebola infected Americans come home, say they infect someone, and it causes a major outbreak, what happens next?

On Thursday, Barack Obama signed an executive order that allows for the apprehension, detention, or conditional release of individuals with certain severe acute respiratory diseases, not including influenza. The executive order modifies one signed in 2003 by George Bush that allowed for the detention and quarantine of those with SARS. View Quote Full article CDC Quarantine Stations |

It's not like they're going to liquify the ebola patients, put them in crop dusters and do aerial spraying over all major metropolitan areas to ensure a good, even coverage.
Or are they? |

Read the book THE HOT ZONE by Richard Preston, published in 1995.
It is an excellent read. If there was ever a major outbreak of Ebola Zaire or Marburg in this country, we are fucked. |

View Quote That is, of course, assuming that there aren't current cases in western countries that have been misdiagnosed as something else considering the initial symptoms are the same as a cold. 21 days of incubation period, and 7 days till you're kaput after it's active? And, as per the Canadian study, it may be airborne? |
|
It's airborne in the sense that if someone sneezes on you you're fucked. Frankly I think even a minor outbreak and our economy will start to crumble. Commerce will all but come to a halt. Imagine empty NFL stadiums on Sunday...
Not fucking good. |

Patient escapes CDC, hops on MARTA, nobody knows where Carl is.

One advantage we have in America versus places like Zaire is that when someone dies, we don't bring the body back into our home for a few days where the entire family bathes the deceased and handles the corpse.

Where's the poll option about barbecuing up a great big ol' pile of monkey meat, and inviting all the neighbors over?

Why would you even consider taking a chance, albeit small that something like this could get out of hand? We are being governed by fools.

What we need is a few more monkey aids viruses floating around here.

For most of GD, nothing changes. Remain in basement. Microwave Hot Pockets. Pop PMAGs.

What a shitty way to go.
Maybe if it's Detroit, it would be okay. |
|
If ebola got into the population here, it will be amongst the immigrants from the same locations in Africa where it spreads unchecked now, it will get out of control via exactly the same vectors in Africa, except the morons will spread it outside their enclaves to their ignorant neighbors.
Intentionally importing viruses is a definition of insanity. Once they're here, infected persons belong in sanitariums where their access to the public is eliminated. |

People told to shelter in place, panic ensues, martial law is invoked, Obama is declared ruler for life, problem is quickly resolved just like everything else has been since he became our supreme leader, the nation rejoices and hails the king and we all live happily ever after.

They'd quarantine those infected. Most major hospitals are equipped to handle such cases. If something cropped up in my neck of the woods, I'd prolly take a week of PTO, but otherwise I'm not concerned.

Whatever is going to happen is not going to be to our liking. It will cause a massive change in government and society if a large scale, nation wide pandemic does break out.
It is almost a certainty it will at some point in time. |

We have a 400 plus page guide from the H1N1 scare from years ago. They'll brush off that manual and start using it.
I think that the government will be more concerned about doing the politically correct thing rather than the safest thing. They'll be more concerned about appearances and affixing blame. |

Most major cities would be fucked in a matter of weeks.
Economy would tank so hard that it would finally get to where Obama wants it. FEMA camps would become real. Riots would be breaking out. Especially in the inner city ghettos. |
