 Upstairs was getting pretty hot.
Went outside AC unit was not running, Took off panel to do i dont know what One of the capacitor terminals is burned like a mofo. i beat it with my flashlight and outside unit kicks on. still not cooling but out side unit is running can a bad capacitor keep it from cooling? getting drunk now...so any help is appreciated. now with ms paint **Update* Thanks again guys for your help. |

Acquire a homeless child. Put a remote shock collar on him. Give him a stick. Make him stand outside next to the unit and tell him to beat the thing when he feels a shock.

Well my forum friends I appreciate everything. I will go to the supply house and get a new capacitor in the morning.
I put the wife in the kids in the only cool room in the house and i am going to get to drinking my crown now. So fuck it... oh and per the rules since i mentioned wife...

If your in the katy area call polar express. I'm not an ac guy, but if you hook that cap up wrong you can do a lot more damage and turn the problem into a new unit.

Just FYI. 4th largest city in the nation and one place 65 miles from me only open past 12 on saturday.
Got a new capacitor and nothing really changed. So he is where i am at now. 1.If i manually push the contactor the compressor and fan start 2. Blower will only blow if thermostat is set to "on" 3. i have a stick pushing in the contact and the thermostat set on "on" 4.we are 73 degrees. lol not sure what is next. ??after you install the new capacitor does it take a while to work? i was doing so much not sure what was working and what wasnt all i know is contactor will not stay in on its own. |
