You have associates who view their relationship with America in terms of reciprocity.

Disagree. There are 3 countries in this world that will go to war with us and ask little to nothing in return and hopefully we'll do the same for them. Canada isn't one of them.  Israel isn't either....by a long shot.

The BL is that the storm is just now gathering. The last 12 + years have been an introduction as to what the next 30-50 years will look like. My guess is that there will be a lot less folks around who study the Koran and that our children will be learning Chinese in school. Raical Islam is dangerous to be sure but in the greater scheme of things they're a distraction. Look east.

Britain and Canada were nowhere to be found in Vietnam.  Canada also did not take part in GW2

They may have been for a long time, even if both parties kept it on the DL. This administration has damaged the relationship deeply with both intentional and incompetent actions.

Israel would be foolish to rely on the US like Ukraine did.

Fwiw we do enjoy a decent relationship with the UK because of how moderated they are, and they are also not relying on the US in the same way.

You do when you're America.  Anglosphere, assemble!

There's one where Finalnd tries to assemble the Fennosphere and no one shows up, but I can't find it.

Proximity? Canada, naturally.

Who would come to our aide soonest? My guess is Britain first then Australia, then New Zealand and Canada

Were it not for Israel, you wouldn't be able to buy a Tavor at your LGS.

Can you buy an sa-80 or an Austeyr F88 at your LGS?

Didn't think so. That's about all I need to know about the UK and Australia.

Tavor is only possible because the Izzy's sourced most of the components from the US so they could buy the rifles with US defense aid

Exactly this.

Australia has been with us every time we've gone to shitty places to kill shittier people.  They just don't dislocate their arms patting themselves on the back afterwards.

England and Canada used to be enemies with the USA

Australia has never.  And we share a mutual distrust of the English

Just remember this quote from Benjamin Disraeli, the Victorian-era British Prime Minister:

"We have no permanent friend. We have no permanent enemies. We just have permanent interests."

Any "friend" is apt to stab you in the back if it suits his interests. This especially applies in international relations.

So, in any analysis, don't look at "friends" or "enemies." Always look to see if there is a convergence of interests.

Think about it, Canadians and Americans are basically one people dived by a political boundary. When ever I go there the only real difference I see are those funky kilometers on the road signs.

Britain is, of course.

Israel is friendly towards America, in a sort of way. But you can't call them an 'ally' in the traditional sense.

I'll go with Aussies being the best allies. Always there when needed.

Plus, your women are insanely hot. They make the IDF chicks people are so fond of posting here look like 80 year old Russians.

GW2 and Afghanistan didn't serve our interests and cost us a ton of money and lives.

You could say the same about Vietnam, since a the main push was all about "All the way with LBJ".

Sometimes friends do things for friends without any self interest involved.

Fuck yeah.

Canadians look at America and pick on us because we are somewhat chubbier, and a little bit more high strung and somewhat aggressive.  We pick on Canada because they are like the overly polite sibling that tries to pretend it has more European "refinement" and sensibilities but in reality are really just trailer trash like we are, but at the end of the day if any other nation were to pick a "take off the kiddy gloves and fight" kind of fight you KNOW we would have each others backs.  We are family in a way, demented, argumentative siblings cast from the die that was the English crown, but we are still family nonetheless.

Fuck yeah, Canada.  You guys are awesome.  If that high school bully ever were to pants you guys you, know damn well that your iron pumping, always looking for a tussle brother would jump at the chance to beat the ever living shit out of whoever fucked with his brother.
